Jumping ship would be counter productive.

The SEC would not take Clemson and FSU. USuC, UGA, and UF would all vote to ban it. We would not add any money in television markets, and we are already pulling valuable recruits away from those programs. The Big 12 is too much traveling. Just ask WVU how that plan has worked out for them. The fact of the matter is, Clemson will not get respect until we can consistently win our SEC out of conference games and bowl games. Plus, when we get to a BCS game, we can't afford to become an off-season punchline. Like it or not, until Clemson can show the nation we belong to play with the "big boys" year in and year out, we will not get the respect of the "big boys" (Oregon, Oklahoma, Alabama, LSU, OSU, etc.). I know that upsets a lot of people on here, and I expect to get more than one thumbs down.
Sorry for the truth, PhD. T.

I'll believe it when I see the money

Projected money isn't actual money. When they renegotiate the contracts with the B1G and whatever television networks and the figures are in front of me I'll worry.
On a side note, if you were Barker and could go anywhere, what conference would you be negotiating with?

Their actual money is already far greater than our newly inked money.
To your question: SEC, with Big12 in my back pocket.

got any plan to get into the SEC? No chance they take us. As far as the Big 12 goes, we'll be in the same situation as WVU. Plus, I'm not sold on it bringing in a lot more money. With travel and exit fees, I think we end up even.

This is not true.
Look at the options we are looking at for expansion. They barely pass a sniff test for having football programs.
The SEC needs 2 more schools and the Big 12 needs, what, 5 more to get to 16?
B1G commish also has stated today that he wants to build up the east coast presence for their league, which implies they are not done yet.
Certainly of the available teams out there for these 3 conferences to pick up we are among the few at the top of the list.

SEC! If we were in the sec, we could ruin the coots chances to ever be relevant in that conference also. With us pulling all the in state sec minded recruits away from them, and we would. They would remain the bottom feeders of the sec for ever. They would have to pack up and leave that conference also.

We don't have anywhere to jump so all this stuff about leaving the ACC is a moot point !!

they want fantasy world answers. 50 mill says Clemson and FSU are going no where, so why keep whining about it? Not gonna help and Louisville is bad academics and are ranked 165 right with WV, so why does anyone think that Louisville will get picked?

like I said earlier, we would be trading even football programs. But UConn brings in a lot for basketball, and that is what Swofford cares about.

But what will it take to win like that in the ACC?

Just to keep up in coaches pay and facilities will force us to reduce non-revenue sports, or at least reduce our competitiveness in non-revenue sports. Is it a very cheery prospect to beat the Coots in football and lose in every other sport? That is the situation we find ourselves in with the ACC. Financially we are going to be buried by the SEC's ESPN dollars. And don't talk to me about Clemson and FSU being relevant. We are both top 10 programs this year, and where has it gotten Clemson? Potentially left out of the BCS picture anyway. Tell that to recruits and see how many sign with you.

Sakerlina, UGA, UF, and Kentucky would need somebody else's vote to keep Clemson, FSU, GT, and Louisville out if the others wanted one or more of them in. Not saying we'd get in, but the alliance doesn't have the numbers to block us anymore.
