At or near the top. How many times have we seen elite athletes whose star is dimming go to a lesser team and then wallow around in anonymity for a year or two. So degrading. Very few have success elsewhere.

Class of ‘71. Went through “rat season” and glad I did.


I doubt he will ever compete for a ring again

If you had the opportunity to make $20M a year for the last 3 years of your career, would you turn it down? Even if you had to transfer to sunny Florida?

Either that or his skills are rapidly deteriorating at 42 years old. I'm 43 and can definitely say that you clearly start seeing/feeling differences in your early 40s that you never thought you would see in your 30s!
