I think the wearing of black and garnet to remember

Feb 6, 2015, 1:53 PM

And show respect towards a loss of life is a classy thing to do. If you are one of these people making comments about not wearing garnet as if you are still in grade school being petty, you aught to be ashamed. I'm a huge Tiger fan and always have been but when tragedy strikes, it's time to put all those things on the shelf in an effort to show community. If wearing garnet shows our neighbors, friends and families we love and care for them, I'd wear it all season if need be and still pull for Clemson.

Some things are just more important. I'm not a Carolina fan but I'd never wish harm to any of them over a rivalry. I'll be wearing garnet and proud to do it during this time. And say what u want but I know they would do the same for us.

We are Clemson .

I get it, and wish the family and friends all the best. But homicidal maniacs dont take state borders and conference affiliation into the fold when committing their acts. Why should we pollute our traditions over the actions one of misguided miscreant?

I am totally willing to flick my lighter a few times instead.

Feb 6, 2015, 2:46 PM [ in reply to the audacity to show contempt for tragedy.... ]

if you were as smart as you think your are, then this would be OK...

yet you obviously don't get that half the time, it's just you who missed the point.

If you will actually READ the OP - assuming you can - I think you'll see the OP saying that the people "making comments" on the board about not wearing Garnet was the issue. You see, Mr. World's Most Interesting Arsehole, that's entirely different than saying, "Not wearing Garnet is disrespectful". The difference being entirely that some people going out of their way to diss the colors if USuCk was the issue.

In other words, if you wanted to show respect by wearing the colors, then the OP thought that was "classy"

If you didn't, then please, ShutTheFugUp, because making negative comments is "not classy" in that it's simply not necessary in the situation.

Sorry that was too difficult for you to get the first time around - see I'm actually giving you credit as if you weren't really just trying to pick a fight with the OP.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

where have you seen me "try to pick a fight" with anyone?

Feb 6, 2015, 3:28 PM

I have simply pointed out to York that he made a mistake. He didn't read properly, and he came off sounding as if he was trying to pick a fight with the OP - which ain't his first time.

I simply agreed with the OP on all points:

- if you want to wear Garnet, then it's a nice gesture of empathy - "classy" even.

- if you want to wear something other than Garnet, that's fine too.

- but if you have nothing else to do with your time other than to snipe at USuCk on a day of mourning, then, yeah, that was pretty pathetic.

Fight? What fight?

York showed his arrogance, ignorance, and lack of class - with his post, not for failing to wear Garnet - yet again.

Same song, another day.

Yet I call you out because you do it all the time - you're hysterical with bad judgement - honestly I think it's bred into you.

So if you must have your "links", simply go to the TigerNetNews article and read the posts in response - there are several that simply could have been left unsaid - should have been left unsaid. Whatever.

Re: oh.. this is good.... so what you are saying is

Feb 6, 2015, 2:54 PM

Thing is, the distinction that epi is talking about isn't even delineated very clearly in OPs post. OP makes mention of it but then veers off into insinuations that we should be wearing G&B today.

Even if it were very clear that OP made that distinction, it really doesn't change anything. Someone who says "I'm not wearing garnet and black" is no worse than the person who mumbles it under their breath and acts in kind.

This whole issue is so boring.

Re: I think the wearing of black and garnet to remember

Feb 6, 2015, 2:04 PM

It's a thoughtful gesture. There are others that can be done too. I'm not going to get upset if someone doesnt. I live out of the area and did not hear about it b4 I left the house. Even if I had I can't think of anything I have that is garnet. Doesn't mean I don't feel for those who suffered this loss. We have way too many of these incidents all over the country and the world. I'd love to find a way to stop them.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-74tiger.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This is pretty simple.

Feb 6, 2015, 2:07 PM

1) Good for the people that chose to wear garnet and black today.
2) There's obviously nothing wrong with NOT wearing garnet and/or black. Everyone doesn't need to show their support in the same fashion.
3) Is there really a need to vocalize your refusal to own and/or wear garnet on here? It just comes off as petty.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm not wearing Garnet.

Feb 6, 2015, 2:10 PM

I simply don't own anything garnet. If some want to maker a gesture by what they wear on a particular day, go for it. It doesn't upset or offend me. But it shouldn't upset you that others are not inclined to do so. It doesn't speak to their character or level of class. Perhaps they simply show compassion and support differently.

Now don't hurt yourself getting off of that high horse.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up
