I think the fact that Feaster wore Spiller's #28

Jul 29, 2019, 10:36 AM

is what makes this move feel so divisive.

It was a special honor, now it feels tarnished.

I hate it for the kid, because I love Feaster. He has been a role model.

It is just the fact that I can't stand the COOTS!

I'm sure the Coots would not like one of their own coming to Clemson! It's just the way it is.

Don’t think Dabo would take one of their transfers

But I think the rest of what you say has merit. It certainly stings and I think VT would’ve been a better choice, but the coots are the closest P5 school to Spartanburg with starter reps available this year.

If his rationale is he wants increased playing time and staying close to home so his family can watch him a lot, then the coots make the most sense (personal feelings on them aside).

Yes, absolutely, it makes perfect sense...

BUT then again, it doesn't.

To him, this is a business decision

Which I can respect. Not saying I agree but if you leave the emotion at the door and look at it as a one year rental, he will only be there for 4 months. Get there early August, finish up with a loss to his alma mater end of November, even if they make a bowl it’s unlikely he plays in it.

I think we are all wearing this topic out.

We should wish him all the best - regardless where he goes. He competed for 3 years, earned his degree, stayed out of trouble, and contributed to 2 National Championships. Wearing #28 carries a lot of responsibility. He didn't live up to his expectations on the field, but who could have seen TE explode like he did.

In all fairness - TF probably has endured enough guilt for not living up to the hype of wearing #28 and the expectations he was saddled before arriving. But let's wish him good luck. We will beat the Shamers like a drum even if they had Barry Sanders.

I think it is such a big problem for me, and others, because

this is not a freshman transferring. Feaster has been a Clemson man for 3 full seasons, seeing significant playing time, winning NATTYS. He is up to his eyeballs in the rivalry, and as such we think there must be something innately wrong inside him to even consider a move to the Coots. It is betrayal of the highest order. On top of that, it just doesn't make sense from a football standpoint. Even if he does get more playing time with the Coots, he is not going to put up good numbers. He is going to get slaughtered at, or behind, the line of scrimmage due to poor blocking every time he touches the ball. Not to mention that he will have a giant X, Y, and ZEE target on his back when we play them. I would truly not want to be him in that game.

Other than that, it's fine.
