This years offense

Is it sensible for me to believe the offense will be greatly improved just because players are older? I’m clinging on to hope that maturity at QB and OL will pay dividends this year.

You’d think so. They’d have to be improved. Our biggest downside last year was ball security, and explosive plays. If we can get those fixed we will be drastically improved. But with us returning everyone on offense and this being Riley’s 2nd year to coach and we also brought in a proven oline coach to help protect Cade and take pressure off of him via the run game. It has to be better. RIGHT? Anyways GO TIGERS!!!

I'm not as worried about qb as others. Honestly, if he can just cut his fumbles in half, we are going to be in a much better spot.

I feel like better play at OL and WR will be the real key though.

I think Wesco and Moore coming in and Williams & Brown staying healthy and Turner coming back we are going to have some really good competition and depth at WR. My key there is improved blocking though. If we can really get better on perimeter blocking, that's going to make a huge difference.

I'm probably most interested in the OL. We get Parks back which is huge, but candidly this group was a real liability last year. We definitely built depth the hard way last year and I think that will pay dividends. I've heard coaches say that 1 year of experience is worth more at OL and QB than any other position on the field (offense or defense). I think a large part of our success hinges on Center though. Will linthicum step up into the role and realize his potential. Hard to remember, but this guy was the number one center in the nation coming out of high school. If he turns out to be a gamer, I think we are going to be a hard team to beat.

If that happens, Cade will look much better.

Cade and the WRs need to make a jump, but I really think this year comes down to the OL.

We have talent, but man they were bad at just a fundamental level across the board. We have the coach to correct that, but he’s starting from zero. If we stay healthy, I think this is an offense that will be miles ahead of the last three years by the end of the season.

Its mostly on the oline.

WRs and Cade should be better.

Not too much further we can fall from around 90th in the country in explosive plays. Bigger question is whether we’ll be “better enough” to get back to elite? Need a massive jump for that. We will know almost everything about this team by October 6th if not sooner.
