I think people's frustration lies in the lack of

Nov 15, 2014, 7:03 PM

a running game going on 4 years now. It has been masked the last 2 years b/c of a 250 lb QB that could take punishment and convert short yardage. He's gone.

If we had any semblance of a run game, the QB transition wouldn't be as bad as we've witnessed. It's clear by how much he runs DW, that Morris is set on that being the main run game threat. The problem is, DW is 200 lbs soaking wet. Even if he doesn't hurt his knee, I'm not sure he takes that kind of punishment the whole game.

This is not a "fire Chad" post. But, we do not have the "smash mouth spread" he ran at Tulsa. We don't rely on our backs. Is it scheme, preference, etc...?

Games like today expose a lack of effective run game more than Cole ineffectiveness.

Of the "lip quiver". Do you think if Richt lost to Tech 6 times in a row - his ### wouldn't be gone? Clemson fans want NC's but are more focused on a good time outside the stadium. Just my observations from 30 yrs of watching.

if we were to fire Dat Boy.

His buy out is more than the Apollo Program.

I've been a Morris fan since before he got here... but

a great deal of it is scheme. Plus, you recruit the OL the OC wants, and you do things technique and scheme wise the way he wants... whether the OL coach agrees or not

thought the run game was going pretty good today....

Nov 15, 2014, 7:06 PM

The passing game was atrocious and getting so far behind made us have to leave the rushing game.

I believe at halftime we were neck and neck with Tech rushing.

When the game is over and GT has thrown for more yards than you, there's a problem.

OL was not our problem today...

Stoudt was as bad as any QB I've ever seen play today. I'm not exaggerating.

I agree. The reason Morris ran Watson so much is because

Nov 15, 2014, 7:08 PM

he is like an extra back, with no one to pick him up on their D line. Morris was using Watson to make up for our weaknesses. Watson is more like a Ferrari than he is a tank. Hope Chad finally gets it.

The old saying is that running games and defense "travel." It was true then and it is true now. If you can run the ball and stop the run you take pressure off all other aspects of your gameplan. You never have to hope for things to go perfect in a game if you can run the rock.
