ND and no championship game. Will they leave ND out? and drop them similar to TCU? TCU is not ND but it has happened! Thoughts

The biggest difference between then (with TCU) and now is that the domers are undefeated - TCU had 1 loss. It is a tougher argument to drop an undefeated ND out of the top 4 than swapping out a 1 loss TCU for a 1 loss Ohio State...

TCU was ranked #3 in the next-to-last CFP rankings, even with that one loss, and won their final game 55-3. As a reward they were dropped from #3 to #6. The committee does whatever they please. Whether it's jumping Mich St over Oklahoma in 2015 so we get battered and Bama waltzes, or keeping ND in this year. Note: if Bama wins and stays #1, the committee will definitely jump OU over ND so Bama can get them. CFP will claim it's because of the conference championship.
eSECpn has the broadcast rights to all CFP games. The CFP knows what to do.

I think the Top 3 including ND is locked in as long as Clemson and Alabama win. Everything this weekend is just to determine the #4 team. I don't think ND will be moved downward in the polls because of their name and they didn't suffer a loss in the regular season.

I see what you are thinking but the other two replies are right ND is undefeated and they are Notre Dame. I think the committee would love to see a ND vs. Bama title game. I hope Clemson wrecks the party!

Notre Dame is not going to get left out like TCU did...

Unfortunately for TCU, the Big 12 at that time had no conference championship game, so TCU's final impression on the committee was a 55-3 drubbing of a 2-10 Iowa State team.
Baylor punctuated its résumé with a 38-27 victory over No. 9 Kansas State while Ohis State, starting a 3rd string QB, absolutely throttled Wisconsin in Big10 Championship game.

Going undefeated against a P5 level schedule HAS to get you in. There's a real problem when it doesn't (absent 4 other teams who have done the same).

Rather underwhelming all season long. They won, but never looked in sync. That and Crab-gate was a distraction, along with other Winston-female-related issues.

ACC Also Gives ND Preferential Treatment
Nov 28, 2018, 5:45 PM

Why would anyone think ND won't be given preferential treatment by the selection committee when the ACC gives them all kinds of breaks?
