coaching staff. I'm going to hate to read TNET if we don't make the playoffs or lose another game this year.

I think with the youth at OL, the ceiling for this team is

a semi-final game and possibly a national championship game berth depending on the playoff matchup. We'd have to have everything go our way to win it all this year.

Next year, however, is for sure our year as we should be strong across the lines of scrimmages, development at QB, WR, RB, TE, etc.

This year is a major building year. That doesn't mean that we still can't "slip up" and win the whole deal. But it's a important year to build on some fundamental pieces for next year as well.

I still think it's likely that we win every game and back in the ACC Championship - provided we have no major injuries. At 12-1, you are getting a playoff berth 9 years our of 10. Sure, it may not happen. But 12-1 with an ACC Championship win is a great season no matter if we make the playoff or not.

We should run the table, so will Georgia... so playoffs :

Georgia goes to 1 , Bama 2 or 3 (score dependent in $ec ch game) , and we slip in 4 (they will sell rematch , plus our playoff history and fan support).

That should have us fire tested for next year.

Oh Lawd, they'd be calling for Dabo. But, you know, it's going to happen one of these years. And the sky won't be falling then either.

Good Lord willing, we'll all rise the next day, go golfing, hunting, fishing or whatever is your thang. Until next time, Go Tigers!

I think Dabo should be able to coach here until he wants to

Sep 8, 2021, 10:28 AM

leave. That being said, I wish he would do something about our offensive coaching, because year in and year out our offense is inconsistent and relies on us just "out-talenting" the other team. If we don't have a superman at QB who can get us out of third and long about 15 times per game, we can't beat good teams. That's a problem.

Great comment. We knew that Georgia was going to be a handful, no surprise there. Scoring only 3 points nowadays is a rarity. I remember in the early 60’s scoring 6 points in 2 consecutive games…..and we won both games! I agree that we probably should have rolled the pocket to get DJU a little more time. Would have loved to see some misdirection stuff, even a full blown reverse to keep them off guard. We have talent across the board, and we have know for quite a while that our coaching is at or near the top of all college football. There is no disgrace losing to another top 5 team, even though it is Georgia. Relax everybody! We’ll make the proper changes that are needed and look just fine in the stretch run. Every season and every team has a game full of “what if’s.” Just think what’s going through the minds of Nancy state, Of suc, Pitt and the rest! We’ll be just fine. Now…..are we wearing the silver helmets this Saturday?

It's unrealistic to think our D can shut out all the rest of the teams we play. For whatever reason, we can't run the ball consistently. So we will have more issues with scoring at some point. There are 2-3 games that could be toss ups now. Then if say State or F$U knocks us off, it is possible we don't make the ACC championship game.

You're right... it seems like we could score 80

Sep 8, 2021, 10:44 AM

this Saturday and some people on here will still be questioning whether or not Clemson should continue to have a football team. R-E-L-A-X, everybody

They have gotten Spoiled. Even Bama had playoff interrupt three years ago and went to a New Years Six Bowl and now look at them another Natty and looks like headed for one this year.

I think most people are just frustrated that we won't have

Sep 8, 2021, 11:07 AM

an opportunity to redeem ourselves at least in the national picture. Having only one game (at least on paper) determine the season is very frustrating. The current state of our league is both a blessing and a curse. It's great if you're able to remain perfect, but absolutely terrible if you lose even one game. The last few years it has gone our way, but this year it doesn't appear to be in our favor.

There is still a lot of football and plenty can happen with the national picture. This team will get better no doubt, and some of those "great" week one teams will not be so great at the end of the year. All we can do is hold on and enjoy the ride.

If we rush for less than 100 yard against SCState…

I wonder how of a difference Lyn J could have made?***

He’s more accustomed to our ‘blocking’ schemes.

Sep 8, 2021, 11:52 AM

So I think he would have done well.
