Why does Saban choose to go out

and get proven assistant coaches instead of just hiring from within?

1) it makes a big difference when selling a recruit. This coach has a track record
2) they have proven they will be successful in that position
3) it makes common sense

That is the genius of the Saban system. He brings in the best and cycles them out often. No one can figure out Alabama because his systems are constantly changing.
