A Clemson real estate story

About a month ago, my wife and I decided to put our house on the market. We knew a realtor who was a Clemson grad, so naturally we asked her to handle the listing. One of her comments in our prelisting meeting was that we needed to repaint my son's bathroom and change the shower curtain. The wall color was Clemson orange, and the shower curtain was covered in tiger paws. I told her she needed to surrender her diploma. She said "well if a SCAR fan looks at the house, they won't make an offer with the bathroom looking like that." I said "Good! Because if they let me know they are a SCAR fan, I won't sell to them anyway!" Well, we painted the bathroom (but still have a gallon of the orange paint).

Yesterday, our house hit the market. One afternoon and 11 showings later, we had 5 offers. One prospective buyer wrote us a nice little note to accompany their offer. They had noticed our Clemson diplomas on the wall, and wanted to let us know that like us, they had met at Clemson. We immediately accepted their offer, and I called my realtor and told her that she probably cost us $10-15k by making us repaint that dang bathroom!
