I think DRad did the right thing,

We all know the baseball team underachieved and has been on a downward trend. He is in a tough spot as the new Clemson AD with a tenured "legendary" hall of fame type coach.
What he did by setting the expectations publicly was gave Jack and all the general population, Jack supporters and haters, the guidelines for him doing what he needs to do with no questions asked at the end of next season.
If Jack and the baseball team underachieve again he has made it easy to fire him with no backlash, and if they get better he set an expectation that has to be met.

Those aren't for public consumption.

I disagree. That should have been between them and not public. No matter how justified he would be if he ever fires Jack he will receive backlash.
I also thought the points made public were kind of weak. I hope there was more more substance which wasnt made public.

I think he set the table in case it has to happen, maybe not 100% the proper way but he made it known it could happen now.

CYA exercise for DRad. It seems to me he wanted to make a move this year but knew it would be controversial and he'd see backlash so he outlines "expectations" to soften the blow if he pulls the trigger next year.

I agree but I think it also sets the tone for what he

expects out of the program.
Now whether or not that would've been a good thing as far as attracting a top notch replacement is a different animal.
I'm hopeful that DRad will be a very good AD for us and I'm curious what the future holds. As it sits I'm pleased with 2/3 "big" programs at Clemson(baseball, football, basketball)

I think he should always do exactly whatever the most vocal T-netters are clamoring for. If he took the time to actually see how well thought out and well reasoned their position is, I'm sure he would.

I think what DRad (as you call him) treated Jack with complete disrespect by airing the laundry in public. That conversation and those decisions were or should have remained in private. The original statement was enough publicly.
I hardly ever post and am not a Clemson fan though like a lot of people in this state my family members have graduated from both Universities.
Jack is a Hall Of Fame Coach. You don't find many of those guys anymore still Coaching and winning at a high level. Your problem is not the success in Columbia it is parity in baseball. How many games could have went one way or the other.
Only 8 teams are still playing and I can name you another 8 that are just as good sitting at home.
So give Jack some slack as well as his coaches. Clemson has a very good baseball program. It is and has been in very good hands. DRad needs to step back and close his rabbit ears to the loud mouths...
It is Parity in baseball and that is here to stay. Be thankful Jack hasn't packed his bags and left after this spiteful way to treat a great Coach by running to the media. That showed "no class" and I guarantee you the coaching tree of Jack's is watching this and how their mentor is being treated.
Never thought I would be taking up for a Clemson coach but by golly that is no way to treat a great Coach. I don't have to like Jack but I do respect his work and his ability to Coach. That wasn't right to do that to him in the media.

I'd be happy to help Jack pack. He deserves no respect for the four year slide. Get out Jack.
