I think Deshaun will ask to be traded this offseason

Jan 8, 2021, 8:49 AM

He's not the kinda guy to pressure a team just to get him more money. It seems his buddy Will Fuller is going to test the free agent market and his probably gone. Which means they're not going to try to keep him so Deshaun is probably seeing that his career is going to be wasted on a perennial rebuilder team. Watt is sure to retire soon. they've depleted that defense and that offense to a jerry rig squad. McNair is no longer there to listen to players. ITs a business now and that when you see teams nose dive. Watson sells jerseys, makes commercials, and keeps people interested in that team. But i think (unfortunately for the Texans) he still wants to win. Texans show no signs of being interested in winning.

Watt is almost certain to be a casualty under the new

regime. He is in the last year of his six year deal, with a 17.5 Million cap hit. His standing in the community might save him, but I doubt it. The new GM is from the New England Evil Empire, where that kind of stuff is meaningless.

JJ may go. He is a big Cap Hit.
DW4 is going nowhere. The Texans just have to get better.
It might happen, but tough to watch.

I can't think of a major QB still in his prime ever being traded in the NFL while having multiple years left on his deal. Even if he asked for a trade, I'd be shocked if it were to actually happen. The team trading for him would be taking on a huge contract while also likely giving up multiple 1st and 2nd round picks. This would leave that team in basically the same situation as Houston is currently in as a team without a ton of cap space and no draft picks. Watson signed his new deal with Houston less than a year ago. He already knew at that point they had no 1st round picks, and a limited cap space over the next couple years.

Of course he wants to win, but I think his current frustration based on reports is a lack of communication from ownership in the coaching and GM hires.

It would not completely surprise me if it were to happen.

Sooner or later, the NFL will begin to move more toward the baseball model, where star players move almost at will, like chess pieces. The NBA, which I will never watch again, is also the same way. I didn't watch a single game in this last season, and guess what? Didn't miss it at all, especially since the only mention of them on sports channels seemed to be the latest political statement they wanted to make. They should be replaced on TV with Curling. GO HAAAAAARRRRDDDD!

There are some hotties on those wimminz curling teams...

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Or, they could replace the NBA with the Lingerie Football

League. Anything any of those gals had to say would be just as lucid as anything coming out of Lowbrain James mouth.

"boycotting pro sports" guy.

How do you know somebody is boycotting the NBA and NFL? They tell you. Constantly.

If he wasn't aware of those things...

he should fire his agent before the sun sets today.

He should have never signed the long term contract.

He had no choice but to sign the deal, they were going to pickup his 5th option and franchise him for 2 years. The deal gave him security for 4 years, especially with that porous oline.
