I mean the whole taking it to the hoop/boxing out/movement thing seems to work, and it certainly is more interesting to watch, at least to my eye.
But then again, maybe the whole carefully orchestrated, choreographed, low possession X and O philosophy is really the way to go, just takes a while to kick in.

I certainly prefer it. More old school bball. There's something I don't understand, we've actually had comparable recruit rating classes as UCLA. Have no idea whether they had transfers or if this just turns out to be like the coots one off shocking final 4 year. Sure is exciting to watch.

But I bet if your focus was on that style all off season, players could learn those skills and develop. Better than the defensive grind coaching that is too popular in college these days

The Prime Objective is to put the ball in the basket. Both teams last night had great defense, many great defense plays. It’s just that when a team had the ball, both teams wanted to put the ball in the basket with great prejudice. None of this hot potato around the key then heave a brick.

Playing a fun, fast moving game - probably makes it easier to recruit.

UCLA was playing pretty slowly most of the game

Despite the high score they were going deep into the play clock most possessions. I don’t know if they scored a single fast-break point all game.

It's exactly what I have been screaming about, from a Coach's view. Move without the ball, back cuts give and goes, etc. Box out your man, 4 people hit the boards. It's basic, it's basketball 101.
