as a lead assistant. I think he brings a wealth of knowledge and great X and O guy.
I think we could benefit from a true head coach, but I certainly don’t want to get rid of Brownell. Just love him to assistant role.

until this past week. Even if we lose every game from here on out, Brad has already demonstrated his genius. He deserves a huge raise and healthy extension to keep up his great recruiting. Any Clemson fan not happy with that is just spoiled.
That’s probably what JK or any of that cult would say.

If there’s someone out there that doesn’t realize I’m sarcastic, I can’t help them. (MrTinyHammer and PetesPonies from yesterday for example).

recruit and I don’t think he’s the best leader/motivator
College basketball is all about talent acquisition and leading them to play together.
X and O is nice but look at UNC for example. Very poorly coached, but they’ve got talent and made it all the way to the champ game last year.

and how do YOU personally know ?
Folks say Dabo isn't an X & O guy - based on what ?
Dude went from walk-on to scholly national champion . . . he KNOWS the inner workings of an offense.
And based on everything else about him, he knows the inner workings of an offense because he has POURED over defenses to make him a better O guy.
Somebody tell me how somebody is KNOWN to either be an X and O guy or isn't.
Based on the past 13 years - I'm not sure Brownlee knows all that much more about basketball than I do.

to Brad Brownell, lol.
My assumption is that anyone who states Dabo isn’t an X and O guy is an idiot. But Dabo is elite recruiter, elite motivator, elite organizer, and elite leader.
So maybe Dabo isn’t elite x and o but he’s probably better than most. He’s just so good at everything else, that gets lost in the shuffle.
Brownell’s strength is coaching. I think it’s pretty evident. I mean most of our guys don’t belong playing in the ACC, but we get a lot out of them. PJ is the obvious exception. Brownell sucks at recruiting and I don’t find him to be very motivating or a great leader. He’s a bit Eor to me in that regard.

X&O guy - probably just parroting talking head idiots.
I'm not sure Brownlee can coach - we don't make adjustments, we don't offensive rebound because we have to rush back on defense, we put 6 guys on the court, we routinely are EXTREMELY poor at end of half clock management . . . .
I don't think he is that great of a coach - probably an average mid-major at VERY best.

guys generally improve year after year.
But again, my point is who cares. It doesn’t matter if he is a genius or not.
Most of the players that he puts on the court don’t deserve to play in the ACC. Talent acquisition sucks and he’s not a very good motivator. Guys are always just a little lazy looking.

We spent years trying to inbound the ball, especially under our own basket. He finally figured it out, mostly.

It’s because an x and o genius doesn’t mean squat in college athletics.

Especially in the transfer era, it is purely about talent acquisition.
Their development occurs either in high school or at a mid major and then you recruit them to come and perform. That’s just the way today’s game works in the ACC.

Yeah, but in those games even I, sitting at home, called the last play as well as Brownell. E.g., I think Va Tech game I explained to my family how Hunter Tyson is the best baseball pitcher and he needs to throw it 3/4 court so that even if it is intercepted there's less time to heave a 3 and that the clock starts when someone touches it so even deflecting it would be helpful in running off the clock.
In other words, any semi-knowledgeable fan can call those plays.

Instead of an assistant coach role for HC Brownell maybe he should be the laced in a new role that strictly focuses on bringing in more money into the basketball program.
IMO we need to hire a young energetic HC and invest more money into Clemson Basketball. Redesign the outside of LJ and become a University which focuses on a great Education , teaching our student athletes life skills while working to build winners out of all of our sports teams. I know football is King. But if Bama can do it so can CLEMSON ! I believe more in The Clemson Family. At Bama the word family is just a meaningless word. CLEMSON is different. We’re are a true Family.
