I think a lot of you

Apr 22, 2022, 9:16 PM

Fail to realize that, compared with a large percentage of colleges, Clemson is considered a small school. Only recently has Clemson become a major school as far as enrollment is concerned. For years and years Clemson was a school with a much smaller enrollment than most other comparable universities. Everyone knows that until the mid to late 60’s
Clemson was a college with an enrollment around 5000 students. Most being male. It was a college focused on agriculture and mechanics (A&M) . No med school. No law school.

The alumni base of Clemson compared with a high percentage of other colleges is extremely small. All of this leads to the fact that economically Clemson struggles to compete with other colleges in the ACC and others. It is difficult for me to believe that today Clemson has more coeds than male students. All of this leads to the fact that we are currently behind a lot of the colleges that we compete with ..... money wise. The greater the alumni base the more dollars the university has to work with. This is a FACT that many fail to recognize. Only within the last few years have we worked our way into being able to compete in a lot of ways. It’s great to be a Clemson fan and my university has, without question, the most loyal and supportive fans in all of college sports.

WHAT Clemson doesn’t have, compared with others in the league, is a large alumni base to help with the cost of greatness. Amazingly, because of great leadership, Clemson has attained an excellence that many of our competitors envy. I LOVE THIS.

Most all on this web site are as loyal to Clemson as anyone of us who dedicated many hours and many dollars to become a Clemson Man.

It will be tough for Clemson to compete with many others on the athletic field with these new changes that have occurred in recent months. We have less wealthy oilmen, or lawyers or doctors or computer gurus to help “foot the bill” as we move forward. But, I assure you, Clemson will move forward and compete because that’s what we are.

Don’t bash the coaches or the administrators or the board of directors to quickly. Clemson will stay AT the top because it is Clemson and that what Clemson men do!,

Tru Dat. Sometimes you wouldn't know this from tnet. And the voices that want it to change will eventually win out. Clemson won't be recognizable in 30 years... At least not to anyone over 60 now.

Very well said Sir.

We always have been, and still are "lil ole Clemson"... But farmers and old school engineers do dirt for a living that really doesn't pay very much. And we're tough as
h e l l. It's what I love and admire, and always will.

It's changing, which is good, but I Thank God I won't be around to see it.

I’m just glad I’m not trying to get admission to Clemson now.
Best four+ years of my life.

I am not sure get the we have less money part because if you compare our facilities across the board we are at or near the top of the conference. NIL is really about corporations or individuals that are willing to hire a young man or woman athlete to represent them and be a face to help that company or individual sell their product. NIL is a business expense and if everyone will give it a chance, it just might work.

LOL. They are just buying players to help the school win. These NIL groups are the same guys that funded the bagmen, but now it’s legal.

Do you really think that corporations paying high school kids to attend their favorite school will work? I don’t think so.
