You just made me ponder the term "home economics".

Was that one of the original PC terms that started it all? It probably used to be called "homemaking" or "stay-at-home-momming" or something. I had to take it in 7th grade, maybe even 8th. It didn't have dick to do with economics. It was cooking and arts and crafts and shit. And then there was the plain old "Economics" classes in HS for the menfolk who can manage more complex math and thoughts that aren't related to celebrities and home renovations.

He spent an entire semester doing that--it came up in almost every example.

intentionally signed up for his 202 Macro class. Guy was a lunatic. If people were late and didn't walk in the back door of the auditorium, he's throw chalk and erasers at them as they walked up the stairs. And he was a UVA guy, so when Clemson played the Hoos in '91, he had a cheering competition with his classes, him vs. 120 students. He held his own.
Oh yeah, he had a cocker spaniel named Emma Lady Hamilton, I think, and his dog would compete with us on tests. The class after the tests, he was like "Emma loves Alpo canned food, so she picked A for all 40 of the questions. She beat 34 of you on this test."
On the day of the final, his wife brought the damn dog to the lecture hall on a leash so we could meet her before starting the final.

He actually gave away Airtran vouchers away to people in class since he never was able to use them. My buddy took him up on it and got a couple free Airtran flights.
I disliked Econ, but I very much liked his class.
