I saw Rickey Medlocke from Blackfoot/Skynyrd at Publix

Used to see him at the neighborhood Publix in SW Florida from time to time. In his blue jeans, black leather vest, black hat, long hair, just pushing his grocery cart like everybody else. Tall dude.

He was behind me in line one day, kinda too close for comfort. I politely said, "Gimme three steps, gimme three steps, mister, and I won't bother you no more."
He nodded nicely and simply said, "I'm a simple man."
I said, "You got that right."
He said, "What's that smell? What's your name?"
I said, "They call me The Breeze."
I started to say something else and he cut me off, "Don't ask me no questions."
I checked out and said, "I must be traveling on now, there's so many places I got to see!"
He tipped his hat, ran his groceries through the self-checkout, and that was the last I ever saw him at Publix.
