Visiting my hometown

G'ville tomorrow for the first time since 2017. Haven't been downtown to any extent since the mid 80s. What are some good eating spots in the south end? Initially looking at Smoke on the Water, but don't know how busy they'll be about 2pm since they don't take reservations. The person we're visiting may not be a lengthy walker so don't want to walk around very far to search for options. Will probably feel like laying a wreath at the Pete's location when passing by. Ate lunch there many times during high school in the early 60s.

It’s a great downtown with loads of great restaurants.

Rick Erwin’s West End Grille is phenomenal. I highly recommend it.

When we moved in 1986, could probably count the number of restaurants on two hands. Looks like 200 on google map. Did notice Erwins on the map. Thx.
