a bonafide 4-star RB with offers from all the elite programs. And from Jawjuh no less. He was a beast, and we didn't get playas like that back then. He will always have a special place my heart.

I remember reading that James helped recruit CJ. It was some kind of holiday weekend when CJ was coming for a visit and James stayed in Clemson to help host him instead of going home like other students.
I remember all the excitement when James decided to stay for his senior year. I have a very soft spot in my heart for him.

This may seem like Blasphemy to some, but he was always my favorite of the two backs. Yeah, CJ had amazing top end speed, but if he didn't hit a seam or the corner... meh, down he went. Davis? dude could beast guys, he could hit a hole or make one. That TD vs FSU had me screaming! I personally felt we would have won more by feeding him THEN bringing CJ in after JD wore the defense out.

like I claimed in a previous comment, then James Davis is the most valuable recruiter in Clemson history. Without Davis, there is no Spiller. Davis was the spark that lit the Clemson explosion into greatness. I hope he realizes how much he means to the program and the Clemson dynasty.
The NFL really screwed him, unfortunately, which is a tragedy.
