Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Week off edition.
Took all last week off, this is the first time in my working life I've done that in a position where I don't have a backup. Nobody tried to call me so I figure no fires are all that bad.
Last Monday, went with the crew to camp at Nantahala Lake to see the meteors. Got home Tuesday to a heat pump that wasn't working and the aux heat on. It was just a fuse.
Friday, step-sis and my dad drove down to drop of my nephew so we could take him on an adventure for his Christmas present.
Saturday, up earlyish to go to the Moose Cafe then on to Gatlinburg to the aquarium. It was a lot of fun, till we had to evacuate. the little fella was pretty tired by the time we got home, but his only complaint all day was how long we were in the car.
Sunday, not much.
Today, woke up to find that the heat pump isn't doing exactly right again It will try to click on, but no luck. Fan will run though. I'll have to call the man.

Weekend was meh.
Wife yelled at me because some spam call said they were going to cut our power off in 45 minutes because the bill had not been paid. Took me 30 minutes of crap to prove to her it was spam. Should have just waited 15 more minutes and showed her that it stayed on.

Not as long as yours, but off Thursday and Friday again this

week.
Thursday, continued a maybe 25 year long tradition of going Christmas shopping with my goodest pal orangecadillac. We get a little shopping done, eat good, and a whole lot of catching up. We typically solve all issues with Clemson athletics, most of the problems across the city, county, and state, and laugh A LOT. Always one of the best days of the year for me.
Friday, Mrs. volunteered to substitute teach at the charter school for at-risk kids she is on the board of, so I had the whole day to myself. Did a few chores, watched a TV that outlined the entire Murdaugh saga (which I really hadn't paid much attention to), walked the pup, and took another spin with orangecadillac in the afternoon for a couple of hours while he finished up some errands. Over to visit RH Mom, then back home to make a quick frozen pizza before heading to an acoustic jam practice session for our Saturday gig.
Saturday, woke up to no ESPNs on YouTubeTV and it really didn't bother me any because I was busy all day. Headed over to our Supper Club Christmas gala around 7:00...much of the Rock Hill Mafia was in attendance. Great friends, great food, great time all around. Jammed on and off with a few guest players (bass players never get to rest), then we played our set late. Went spectacularly. Got home in the bed around 2:30 am. Sometime during the night I remembered to look at the phone to check if won the basketball game. We did, LOLUTZ.
Sunday, broken and useless. Weekend caught up to me and all I could manage was a grocery run in the afternoon. Other than that, a lot of sitting and staring at the TV with intermittent naps. Ate leftover chili we took to Supper Club gala, and more sitting in front of the TV in a zombie-like state until bed. Watched A Very Murray Christmas, Charlie Brown Christmas, and Scrooged. Pretty much the first holiday season stuff I've watched this year.
18.75/19 Covids...would normally be a 19/19 type weekend but battling a sinus infection ALL WEEK LONG is an automatic deduction. Started to pull out of it by Friday but it still sapped my energy all weekend and staying out so late Saturday rendered Sunday motionless and useless.

Friday got up rest of the billions of leaves inhabiting the compound, split some firewood for the holiday gatherings here. Saturday went around and finished some Christmas shopping, then got everything together to cook a pasta dinner for the neighbors - good time had, no drunks . Sunday, read a book online while the mrs watched hallmark movies. Ate leftover shrimp and pasta. Ready for Christmas and then Marco!

Guess they're gonna take their sweet time since they're giving the $15 credit for a month anyway. Amazing that the technology exists to turn it off with the flick of a switch but obviously requires an enormous lift to turn it back on.

turn them back on, then move them back where you want them in the lineup. That's what I had to do. They were back, but "turned off" like a lot of the other channels that I get but don't watch.

Friday - work. Chilled in the evening.
Sat - Went to Napa restaurant in QC with my buddy and his new 25 year old girlfriend. We were supposed to go to see a Christmas Carol, but it changed venues and we ended up being 45 minutes late, so we we decided to go to my buddy's place downtown. We enjoyed some libations. He turned on the smoke machine, and the Queen and I played on the stripper pole. Then my friend's car drove us home.
Sun - recovered from being sore and hungover - ready for Dry January. Too much party in December.

Fri - cleaned up around the house in anticipation of dawghater2mom coming. for some reason, dawghater2she thinks that dawghater2mom coming means our house has to look like it's prepped for a southern living magazine photo opp. drives me insane, but whatever.
mounted the tv upstairs - total FBCooch move. bought the only mount they had at Home Depot (the one I like at lowe's was out) and it's a cheap POS. can't adjust the TV, can't pull it out to get wiring all like I want it. so I get to do my favorite thing in life and just refuckingdo the whole cottam thing.
SERENITY NOW
Sat - busy day. MIL got some hoity toity ### picture deal for dawghater2baby. did that. then went to fran's to watch UT and Memphis. didn't realize until morning of it was for the basketball game. who throws basketball parties? oh...tennessee fans...lollers
even more lollers - game was canceled b/c of covid. but fran made some good chili, convinced wife smoking ganj while a dad was ok, had a few beers, dawghater2baby was behaving nice, so it was good.
dawghater2mom showed up shortly after
Sun - pretty much just laid around and watched redzone. me and dawghater2she got to have a dinner date night w/ dawghater2mom here, so that was nice. got her liquored up enough to make a quick stop to poundtown...can't have a date w/out poundtown.
Hoping to coast into the holiday, but will more than likely be scrambling to get some orders signed before we're all out next week.

Friday: Dropped sonof off with parents and we went to quarterly supper club with friends. Enjoyed some good food and company. A+.
Saturday: It rained most of the day so we were cooped up inside. Picked up sonof, farmer's market, grocery store, hung around the house. It was actually nice to have a low-key day. A-.
Sunday: Went to niece's baptism, family Christmas celebration afterwards. Solid A.
Overall: A.

Friday pm whatever, was in booster funk.
Drove to visit parents-of Saturday AM. Had a nice visit and sampled some tasty whiskeys of the world with Dad-of that evening (Kentucky and Islay).
Sunday I butchered beef tenderloin and reverse seared filets to perfection. Leftovers gonna make a world-class sammich for lunch today. Drove home last night, saw CW42 dance dance revolution highlights, then finished some work and crashed out.
Log on and see Aero is back. Only downside is Tigers haven't won a natty in over a week. Fire Neff.

Thursday afternoon get text from the wife as I'm leaving for my LAX-ATL flight home - she has COVID. Fully vaccinated, got boosted on Tuesday. Doc that tested her thinks that she had it when she got boosted, but the booster amplified everything. She thinks she picked it up at daughterof-'s cheer competition weekend before. Yay.
Friday generally non-eventful. Sonof- is sniffly, but could be allergies, could be the crud at school, don't think much of it. Meet sisterof- for dinner to exchange Christmas gifts on her way up to see parentsof-
Saturday - daughterof- has swim meet. Takes half the day since I'm filling in for quarantining wifeof- as a lane timer. Afternoon nap (consecutive days of 4-5 hours sleep taking toll). Daughterof- and I renewed our annual tradition of dinner out and the Nutcracker.
Sunday - wifeof says "sonof- slept in our room while you were gone, he's still sniffly. We should get him tested." Ugh. Had I known he slept in our room I would have left his ### at home Friday when meeting sisterof- for dinner. Sure enough, he also tested positive. He's currently quarantining in front of the X-Box. Followed by an afternoon of Costco/Target/Publix for daughterof- and I.
So daughterof- and I haven't shown any symptoms, but I have no idea how we're going to do Christmas with sonof- still supposed to be quarantining.

I don't recall anything worth reporting other than cooking breakfast for supper and making biscuits which would cause a reverent man to slap his granny and whup his mama for letting him believe they could cook. The gravy wasn't half bad either, finally got the viscosity right after all these tries.

that I checked out for much of the weekend. Tried to recoup as much as possible. Friday night - finished up a long week of meetings at work, drove to the Pendleton Brewing Co and hung out with friends for a few hours.
Saturday - slept. went shopping in downtown Clemson, watched football. slept. watched basketball. slept.
Sunday - worked on Christmas cards (was literally all good until I came across celtic_tiger's address true story), helped decorate Christmas cookies, watched football, walked the dog...to Kite Hill Brewery..had a beer...then back home. Chilled...watched more football. Some where in there was watching Grey's Anatomy. Or sitting in the room while wifeof watched Grey's.
