I really believe Miami is improving

Aug 22, 2021, 11:41 PM

each year. I would love to see them topple Bama in the opener. Do they have any chance of doing this? Would it take a “miracle” like App State beating Michigan at their home?

They will get beat by 45 by Alabama. They aren’t close to the top 4 teams period.

Just my opinion, but whether or not they are improving really doesn't matter as long as they have that "thug" mentality.

Zero chance of winning that game***

I was thinking somewhat less.

Yeah more like 1.94%

They will lose to Bama by 21+. I think they are improving, but they are still a couple years away.

No doubt Miami is improving and they are a legit top 15 team this year. Maybe even a top 10 team. They thing is playing Bama when they have had all offseason to prepare is a different animal. Miami is better but will still set the stuffing's best out of them cause Bama is a beast.

I think they lose 3 games. I would like to see them do better though.

Depends on whether or not Bama can stop Miami from running the ball. If Miami can run I think they've got some chance.

If the 'Canes just get squashed at the LoS it's going to be a typical Bama game. What makes me think it's actually going to be not that is that Alabama is replacing a ton on D - and they really weren't themselves on D last year anyhow - and will likely be uncharacteristically soft there, and Miami has a veteran, mobile QB in D'Eriq King of the type that always gives Bama trouble whereas Bama is replacing their own veteran QB with a first-time starter.

If King was (is) fully healthy I'd actually pick the Canes to spring the upset. The problem is King is coming off ACL surgery just a few months back and I'm doubtful if he's really 100% or nearly the same guy he was yet.

I think it all depends on King and how healthy he is, IMHO. I do know I'll be watching with interest.

Miami will not be able to run the ball. The game will be somethinf like when we played FSU with Woody Dantzler as our QB in 2000. We were ranked 10th in the nation. We lost 54-7. I think we opened as something like 6 pt underdogs. My prediction for this game.

Bama 56- Miami 17

This line opened at 17.5 and its up to 19 now.

Bama will win. App State analogy doesn’t quite fit.

Aug 23, 2021, 8:52 AM

At the time App State beat Michigan, they were a D-II school (FCS) playing a D-I school (FBS).

Miami is a legitimate top 25 team this year, but a big underdog versus the Tide.
