I read ANOTHER post saying who else

could Clemson hire as a Head Basketball coach, we have the best available, no one will take this job, blah, blah blah.
I have a name for all those posters Tim Whipple. Irmo High School basketball coach, who just won his 800th game.
I would take him in a skinny minute over Brad Brownell. I saw a picture of Tim coaching a game and he had real emotions during the game.

IF ALL that you saw was a picture, don't fool yourself

Whipple is good as a high school coach, at this stage in his career, he would not translate to Clemson AT ALL...

He doesn't recruit colleges for his players, so, he would not do well recruiting players to play for a college... and my point of reference is the fact that two of my sons have played for him, as well as conversations with the father of a former Irmo player who played at Clemson. Great strategist and can adjust in game to flow, or allow his best player to facilitate what happens on the floor (an improvement over BB), but off court deficiencies would NOT be good at Clemson.

He's an old coach now, and I really don't think he can reach out and pull in the kind of players that we need.

There was a time when I would have thrown my hat in the ring for Bailey Harris from Lexington. but the Bob Wade/Maryland fiasco has thrown cold water on my thoughts of high school to power 5 head coach hires...

Whipple is like 65 years old. Never coached in college. Would be a terrible hire as a head coach. Maybe an assistant.

It’s not any of our job to decide who should replace BB. That’s just message-board defense tactics for those that support Brownell. Just because you don’t have a list of coaching candidates doesn’t mean you don’t have the ability to recognize that a change is needed.
