they’ve both been around other places and would keep continuity. Moree concerned about backfilling- we need more guys from outside to backfill those slots that have experience under other people. Keeping the same D style and system is important. Keeping Streeter if Elliott leaves is important as we have to have Cade(and he needs to be as good as advertised). My biggest concern is the lack of depth and Dabo changing with the times on the portal and issuing more offers earlier. Those things have the potential to impact our future more than the coordinator changes.

I don’t think either of those guys are ready to be coordinators, and if they are ready they may not be ready to be a coordinator at a power 5 school. On offense. We need someone from the outside with fresh ideas, and I doubt that new ideas from a position coach will carry much weight. On the defense, Davi can’t afford to gamble on it, hoping that one of the position coaches works out. He needs to make a home run higher on this side.

Understand where you're coming from. Streeter may be a possibility. But what hurts is neither are top notch recruiters. They might could execute but what's so devastating as I've posted all week is Brents recruiting. Don't be mistaken, that's what OU is hiring him for.
We've lost our best 2 recruiters in the last 3 years now. Scott and CBV.

I'm perfectly fine with whoever Dabo is perfectly fine with.
I honestly would prefer a little new blood but not necessarily at the coordinator positions.
Dabo is a better judge of "who's ready to be a XXXXX coach" than we are. The whole world thought it was a joke when Dabo was promoted. When Chad Morris was hired everyone harped on him being a "HS Coach one year ago". Though Venables had a pretty good reputation I'm pretty sure I remember lots of "Big 12 doesn't know what defense is" comments.
Trust in Dabo.

I also remember the comments about weak Big 12 defenses and comments about BV being “demoted”by Bob Stoops as reasons for concern regarding the BV hire. I trust Dabo to make the right call again.

Then you are perfectly fine with going back to 7-4, 6-6, 8-4 and no ACC title let alone a sniff of a natty. Venables carried this team this year and gave us a glimpse of how valuable he is.
