new perspective. One of my favorite Daboisms is "The best is yet to come". I have that close to my heart today as I hurt for the team and coaches, and to a lesser degree us fans. Last night was not the best we could play, but I am not sure our A game would have won it last night. Bama was ready, well prepared, well coached, motivated, and played about as good as they could have. Sometimes, in football and in life, you are just out played. You tip your hat, say good game, and go on about your business preparing for whats next.
If I thought for one minute that last night was the high point of Clemson football, maybe I would feel differently. Last night was not the pinnacle, and it is not the end of these Tiger's story. Some will move on before camp starts over the summer, and some will return to solidify their legacy. Who knows what next season holds, but I don't think the sun has set on this program. Today, through the pain and the hurt, I know that the best is yet to come. Dabo and his coaching staff will get back to work. They will correct the things they can, and replace those they can't. Today is not a funeral of dreams, today is the the birth of whats next. It is page one of the 2018 campaign, and the future is bright.
The best is yet to come. I am going to go find that clip of Dabo after the championship in 2016, and I am going to watch it. Maybe, I will watch it a few times. This is not the end, this is only a new beginning.
Go Tigers. Proud of this bunch for what they gave us, but also for what they are.
