The things I’ve seen posted here tonight just defy logic.
There was a lot of improvement tonight even though we still have issues galore, the coaches tonight did a good job.
Face it ... The OFFENSIVE COACHES have installed and run PRACTICALLY EVERYTHING the TNet genius coaches DEMANDED.
Not everything worked, but they called the plays YOU WANTED and the players responded with some nice execution.
But can we celebrate another week of solid incremental improvement?
Heck no ... not TNet !
Let’s just blast away at the things that didn’t go exactly right and completely fabricate unwarranted criticism of the coaching staff while ignoring a ton of things that were really encouraging.i
Take a moment and think about what we saw on offense that was GOOD.
Just a few random examples:
Involve the TE more ... check
Put DJ under Center ... check
Throw a dime to Ngata for a TD ... check
Get the ball to Ajou ... check
Call a gutsy unexpected run at the goal to score before the half ... check
Run a really nice fake punt to gain first down ... check
Run designed QB runs ... check
That’s a lot of stuff that a majority of the posters over the past nine days said had to happen.
The offense did their part.
We won a tough game against a pretty decent team.
Celebrate a little bit !

The place absolutely sucks!
Unbelievably ignorant shoot from the hip commentary on every play and total blindness to the things we did right that we hadn’t been doing right.
I’ll stay away in the future.

If you are on a board during a game, that is what it is. Raw emotion about a team and school you truly care about.
To see the offense performing this poorly is simply not acceptable. It is not a one year issue.

Syracuse sucks. And this Clemson team is nowhere near the standard it set for itself, which is best. Lots of criticism is warranted.

Tonight was a chit show vs a team that has lost a bunch of ACC games in a row .
Nothing about tonight was better other than two drives .

Because at least they are trying things we wanted them to try. We have a skeleton crew on the O-Line. That alone would open so much up. The D only gave up 14 points.

Amen brother.
The majority of the negatives are written by posters with less than 100 posts. In my mind - coots or kids.
There was improvement today.
Clearly a long way to go, but every series had a drive killer it seems.
The playmakers did more this week. Missed some too.
Beaux Collins made a great play, as did other wide receivers and tight end.
There is no magic wand or “correct” play calls that solve an offense with issues.
Not pretty and dominating like the past decade, but it was a win.
Better than a loss for sure.

2nd quarter was okay for offense.
Otherwise not as good as BC game. Only thing that saved both games was no turnovers

After squeaking by Boston College Georgia Tech and Syracuse? Really? Something is seriously wrong. I don’t know if it’s the quarterback, o-line, TE or all of the above, But something is amiss with the talent that we have.

I KNEW someone would talk about the throws to the TE. THEY WERE HORRIBLE 2-3 yard passes that netted into NOTHING!!!!!
I am really tired of trying to convince people like you how bad our offense is and it has nothing to do with posts on TE.
What a stupid circular argument it is about TE adjusting to what fans wanted on TNET who you disagreed with going into this game.
All that matters is the production and you can't defend that. You can't defend Elliot by saying he has done what TNET wanted so it's not his fault.
The lack of offensive production IS HIS FAULT. He is paid 2 million a year to be his fault. If I do my job badly I could get fired, anyone can.

Well said. Nothing wrong with being a glass half full type of person but seriously bug, Syracuse is a bad defense. They lost their best and only "good" receiver. Their best corner was out the 2nd half. Unlike us, cuse doesn't have depth. We should have scored on them at will.
As for our D. We are beat up. We're also a D that runs on risk/reward, which creates busts. But the D didn't play well tonight either.... We're blessed that cuse has a QB and a coach that make poor decisions and had a bad night. A decent QB puts at least 28+ points on us tonight. Look at th tape and see how many drops and bad passes cuse had.
I'm definitely not a coach but no way to spin it, we're not a good sound FB team given the supposed talent we have.

This is what we’re going to be this year. Every game is going to be a battle.
We are in a position where we need to try to accept a win and look to see if we did things better than we did the week before.
I definitely think we did.
I listed a lot of things besides the fact that we got the TE involved as folks demanded. He’s not the best TE in the world, but he had a good game.
I saw Ngata fight for a TD pass with aggression and concentration in a way that he didn’t in earlier games.
I saw DJ throw that pass perfectly to put Ngata into a position to make the play.
I saw DJ get under Center after an off week where the coaches obviously gave him a chance to get comfortable with it. He did a great job in that respect. Maybe we’ll see more of it now.
I saw our coaches catch the defense off guard with a gutsy run call to score that second TD just before the half.. we did not throw an incomplete fade pass and then settle for FG as in the weeks past.
I saw Pace and Mafah make consistently nice gains up the gut behind solid run blocking. Even though we has a 285 pound guy subbing at center. We needed to have Hunter Rayburn at center.
I just saw a LOT of good things.
I was HAPPY that we went up there and came home with a win.
When Clemson wins, I’m happy.

But how on earth can you see this to be a well-called game? I guess we can agree to disagree. Squeeking out wins is better than losing, sure but this is a horrible offense.
