I miss the excitement of waking up on New Year’s Day and having all the bowl games.

Jan 1, 2022, 12:44 PM

That was so much fun knowing that there would be so many games. All of those bowls were a big deal. And you knew that a new national champion would be decided that day.

It’s just not as much fun now.

Don’t get me wrong, the playoffs are cool, but they have mostly made the bowls meaningless.

Sorry you’re not having as much fun as you used to.***

I feel bad for him too, and can really empathize.

I remember the days when I used to wake up on the morning of a Clemson basketball game and be so excited that I got to watch the Tigers play that night.

Nowadays…really for most of the last 11 or so years…it’s just blahhh. Sometimes I even forget to watch.

I agree Judge! Now, in the days of Opt Outs, Fraudulent NIL $, Transfer portal, etc., it’s just not the same.

There have definitely been some good games this year.

There was just something really exciting about all of those big bowl games on the same day.

Agree totally, and I'd be 100% for a return to pure amateur

Jan 1, 2022, 1:18 PM

student athletes, where all college football players must meet the same exact academic requirements as every other member of the student body. This would include minimum SAT and GPA entrance scores, maintaining GPA and classroom attendance, course load, no basket weaving or diversity classes, etc.. Real college students who understand they are there first and foremost to pursue a real degree, and if they stay on track for that, they can play football. If that meant a return to 1967 Clemson football, I'd be tickled to death with that. But only if the NCAA grew some bawls and decided to do the right thing by everybody.

I realize expecting that kind of integrity is pure fantasy, as money dictates everything in 2022. But it's funny how I, and millions of others, loved college football just as much, if not more, then than now.

I know you're being funny.

I'm not. Universities, as academic, educational institutions, are under no obligation to the NFL, fans, players, or society, to be a minor league or proving ground for the NFL. We may lose some fans, and some of the "big time" feel, but College football would still be wildly popular if honesty, transparency, and integrity were maintained.

I miss those baggy jerseys players used to wear back then.

Jan 1, 2022, 1:21 PM

Before these little skin tight ones that are shaped to hug the shoulder pads.

Tear-away jerseys were sort of cool also

watching the NIT. Thanks to you that’s about all we can hope for, though.

Queue the lecture on why that’s overachieving because of preseason polls and our lack of history.
