Cereal Post is Cereal: Cord cutting
Aug 26, 2021, 8:44 AM
|
|
now that I live in the big city with really fast internet that doesn't come from a satellite, I am considering cutting the cord to Dish.
Right now I have a roku device on every TV. I have subscriptions to netflix, amazon prime, and disney plus.
I also have my parent's Dish log in information.
The problem is, how am I going to watch American Pickers on the history channel, moonshiners on discovery, court cam on A&E, and impractical jokers on truTV if I cut the cord?
How do yall do it jounge and will I save any sweet equity?

And as long as your wife doesn't like Hallmark, then you're good with Hulu. If she does, trade her in, and you're still good with just Hulu. Otherwise Philo has Hallmark. Another $20/month, but also has A&E, Discovery, and many others with the good shows.

With all of the streaming services I’ve gotten my bill(s) back to where they were with real TV.
I also find myself scrolling to find something I want to watch which is half the reason I wanted to cut the cord in the first place.
I don’t have to deal with Comcast so there’s that.

I go in and out on different services. I keep Amazon for other reasons than TV, and with the others I switch back and forth to keep TV costs down.

YouTube TV is the correct answer.

Especially if you have Roku. And then couple it with the streaming services you already have.
YT TV allows you to set a custom channel line up for each person (so you can move your favorite channels to the top, but your wife can have hers on her log in and favorite TV). It also allows you to turn off channels you don't like, such as Spanish language channels. Or worthless ones like Fox News. I think it has unlimited DVR, too, but I don't really use that. And you get all the college football you need. You can add NFL Red Zone for just a few bucks a month, too.
You'll get all those channels you mentioned on YT TV.

I'll have to check the line-up.
Also, FBCoachSC®, YouTube TV has a great app for your phone or tablet that lets you watch.
Just keep in mind that you can't be logged on to more than three devices at once.

Is youtube tv and regular youtube different then?
Aug 26, 2021, 9:04 AM
|
|
because my kids spend all of their time on regular youtube. Would suck to have 2 of those 3 constantly tied up.

Youtube tv is $69/MO which is why I split it with a family member.

YouTube TV is a full blown TV service with a channel lineup. It's like getting cable TV. Different apps and programming. You'll pay about $70 a month for it. Kids on YouTube won't affect your YouTube TV logins.

In case you want to see horribly obese sister-wife gypsy dwarves get enormous pimples popped so they can fit into wedding dresses so they'll wear to marry foreigners they've never met before, I mean.
The fact that channel exists is proof positive that enlightened society has already descended into a chaotic spiral from which it can never recover.

I have a Discovery Plus add on to Amazon that has HGTV, ID, TLC, Truly, Food, Animal Planet, SCI, and A&E. I think it's about $6 per month in addition to Prime.
