I made a new Clemson friend just this morning...

Dropping off a prescription refill, I noticed a Truck in parking lot with IPTAY stickers. Considering there arent many around the Pinehurst/ Fayetteville area I took notice. Saw a gentleman in drugstore for his order and took a shot and introduced myself.
" Jimmy is my name, he said, class of 1950". We talked for about 2 minutes. I thought I was proud of Clemson. I have nothing on this guy. Then it dawned on me. He graduated 65 years ago. 65!
And he is still wearing sneakers with Tiger Paws on them. 9:30 on a Monday morning, he looked like he was ready to start the season today.
Trust me when I tell you he hasnt missed a beat in 65 years and I am better off for meeting him!

...when I've run into Clemson folks, not only do they seem like genuinely pleasant people (which of course, they are!) but they want to talk about more than just that year's team.
They want to ask when you were there, what you studied and just recall one of the greatest places the Almighty put on Earth that we were both blessed to share.

I'm glad you seized the opportunity to meet another Tiger.
I've found it interesting over the years to listen to tales of older alumni and fans, some of whom that I met during my days at Clemson in the 1960's could relate to the earliest days.
