guys pulled up along side of me today and asked how I was doing. I said I had caught about 19 with a couple of 4 pounders and big mudfish....They said,"You fishin for largemouth",and I said,"Yep". Then one of them said," We're just after spottails"......I kid you not. This was the hardest week of fishing I believe I have ever had. That cold snap just killed their enthusiasm. My buddy went to Russell today and all he caught was peckerheads, so I would say it was statewide.

i know a few guys who used to kayak over to the spillway and get out on the #### and fish the turkey creek. They catch big breeder reds and flounder.

now that the new marina is built in Tanner Plantation, they just launch from there.

You ain’t lying about them gators though. I’ve been challenged in my 14ft by some monsters over the last two weeks, they are breeding right now and those big mommas don’t mess around.
