Consider this….

If Clemson had an average QB this year, most agree we would be in the CFP. If we’re in the CFP, chances of BV leaving for OU diminish considerably as the Sooners didn’t want to wait to name a new head coach. This is the reason why Lanning at UGA and Fickell didn’t get the job.
The mediocre offensive play arguably cost us BV and wasted a championship caliber defense.

I’m not doing anything until after the bowl game they had a plan in place.

I think Elliott was smart enough to know his time to jump wasn’t going to get any better, especially with DJ likely starting next season as the starter, so perhaps he also sent TE packing for us as well. Every rose has its thorn.

Imo, Dabo encouraged both to leave out of his comfort that their replacements were ready for prime time.

DJU is not the answer. Not sure Streeter is the answer.
That said, BV wasn’t going to stay forever AND OU is as blue blood a program as you’ll ever get. He deserves it and I can’t be mad at him.
I CAN be mad about the state the offense has been allowed to fall into. Gotta be fixed.

When she calls, you come.
BTW, eager to see what Dabo does if MAMA (the REAL Mama) calls.

In one great year or two good ones he will be the winningest coach at Clemson in half the time it took Coach Howard.

and will take over once UGA's season is over. Venables likely would have done the same for us if he had been hired while we were still in the natty hunt.
Reason BV left is because his dream job opened up and he likely wouldn't have the chance to go there again and his salary for going there. If you really want to play this game, the reason we lost BV is more likely that Lincoln Riley opened up the OK job for BV by bolting for USC

I think it was time for Brent to leave.

I'm not suggesting in the least bit that anyone wanted him to leave but I believe that it was planned from some time ago that he would work with others on our football staff to train someone who could continue our defensive prowess without interruption to our success. I believe that was also so with Tony.
A noble student learn what he can from the master while the master's goal for the student to exceed the master in their craft. I'm not saying that happened with our defense, not at all but it is quite likely with the offense.
You may be correct about Venables. It's also likely that this was going to happen for OU/BV either way. It was just their time to get together. Imo, he would have left either way.
