In California abortions will now be legal up to the moment of birth for any reason and without restrictions. Michigan and Vermont passed similar legislation. May God have mercy on America.

This is nonsense. Just do a little research and maybe you’ll sleep a little better.

not sure if you read it

the language is purposely vague. So you are correct, it doesnt say killing babies at birth, but it leaves it up to interpretation.
That was done on purpose of course.

Exactly right. That’s why I was not in the mood to argue about it.

I have a hard time doing this, but the best thing is to just always attack, never defend against one of their dumb*** lies

So…you missed the part about CA (and others) already placing limitations on abortion after viability? I get that you immediately want to jump to a worst case scenario where a woman is in the delivery room and just decides she doesn’t want to have the baby and they perform an abortion instead of a delivery. That would be beyond horrific and if those things were to start happening (no, they aren’t happening now), then I would be right there with you. The language is purposefully vague so that they don’t end up in situations like other states where a woman is forced to carry a dead baby to term and/or medical decisions are taken out of the doctor/patient’s hands and decided by a bunch of bureaucrats…you know, the exact thing so many on the right were so afraid of with government run healthcare. Why do you trust the doctor and patient to do the right thing in one case and not in the other?

The law that needs to be passed is that the entire abortion sequence is videotaped and the mother is required to watch once per year for the rest of her life.

Well, that would be cruel…but I guess with you, cruelty is the point. I’m beginning to think it’s what sustains you.

Yeah, over the top and obviously not a serious proposal, but to make a point.
That point is this is a very serious and emotionally wrought event, probably incompatible with most people's conscious and ability to 'put it away.'

Several things to know here …
I live in Helena and I voted against this.
The picture shown is a gathering outside of Montana, apparently at our Supreme Court in Washington, DC. Perhaps a Montana citizen is there, but not likely. It is part of a Fox News presentation and Fox News is entertainment for the easily enraged. “News” is part of the entertainment show’s name; it’s connection to actual news is that the entertainment is based on real news, on actual current events … then distorted.
The ballot measure is weirdly worded and was evidently put forth mostly to bring out more conservatives so that election denial candidates might win.
Montana already has a law about fetus viability that penalizes the late term abortion folks … so this rejected law would affect zero clinics but would/might affect any number of unfortunate occurrences such as a late term miscarriage, thus adding police, courts and bureaucracy to an already bad situation.
There’s more, including more examples, but Montanans saw it for what it was and considered it unnecessary.
