I just don't see us ever having an elite defense

Our defense made several crucial stuffs, including a couple fourth and 1's. Yes, the secondary was burned on several plays. Glennon is also a heck of a quarterback. NC State also held the sh!t out of our D-line on that first TD--I was literally screaming at the TV. One of those holds was SO obvious and kept our guy from getting pressure/hands on Glennon.

Yes, they also gave up 2 1-play-drive TDs in the second half, but those were set up by a huge KO return and huge turnover, respectively. Both were on a short field and there were going to be points no matter what.

Our defense had a crucial interception in the end zone, a massive sack which led to a fumble and TD, and put heat on Glennon throughout the game. Am I saying they were great yesterday? Not in the slightest...they were very frustrating. But to say they weren't present at all is inaccurate.

Hum,no defense period.
So I guess all those other 1 loss teams don't have a defense either.
FSU has one loss(to N.C.State which also doesn't have much of a d from what I saw yesterday).Florida has a loss to UGA,which lost to a 2 loss coot team.K.State gave up 52 yesterday.USC(the real USC)gave up 38 to UCLA ,which also has two losses.UNC and Ga.Tech played a basketball game last weekend.Ole Miss and LSU combined for 76 points.They have 7 losses between the two of them.Not much d there either I guess.
An elite defense,or no elite defense,Dabo has us going in the right direction.Brent Venables accquired a horrible defense.He has not one of his recruits playing a down because he hasn't recruited his first player since that is almost impossible to do in your first season.
Lay off the defense for now.Unless you are one of those TigerNeters who think Clemson should be playing in the National Championship every year just because they are Clemson,we are sitting at 10-1,something that hasn't happened since 1981,the year we did win the N.C
If Brent doesn't have an improved defense this time next season,get back to me then.

P.S.I'm not saying we don't have issues,but there are a lot of teams out there that would love to be sitting at 10-1.This time last year our defense was not able to bail us out,yet we are playing this season with the same personnal,minus a a couple of guys who went to play in the NFL.
