Being told there is big news coming out of Columbia tomorrow

Sep 4, 2012, 12:56 PM

regarding Shaw's shoulder. Don't take this to the bank, but he could be done for the year.

Are you serious?***

I was told this by a Coot supporter. Not good news for them

Sep 4, 2012, 12:59 PM

if true.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Does Garcia have any eeligibility left?***

Or maybe be a mentor for the QB COACH!

This is a nagging type of injury ....

Sep 4, 2012, 1:00 PM

that if not allowed time to heal properly will pose ongoing problems throughout the season.

I don't like seeing any kid get hurt and I hope Shaw is OK, but Spurrier has no one to blame but himself for this one.

Re: This is a nagging type of injury ....

Sep 4, 2012, 1:13 PM

How is Spurrier to blame?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He continued to play him....

Sep 4, 2012, 1:18 PM

without knowing the full extent of the injury. Neither QB could throw the ball worth a crap so you had no choice but to run it. If all you're going to do is hand the ball to Lattimore, why leave an injured Shaw in for that.

Re: He continued to play him....

Sep 4, 2012, 1:36 PM

You must have missed the fact that without several of his completions after the injury, we lose that game. The doctors at the game said it was a bruise. Look now like it was just a bruise.

Re: This is a nagging type of injury ....

Sep 4, 2012, 1:16 PM [ in reply to This is a nagging type of injury .... ]

This doesn't make sense...how can Spurrier "have no one to blame but himself for this one." It's the first game of the season...I don't see how you can say he was carrying too much of the load or getting too many carries...the guy is a quarterback, anyone can get injured, especially a guy who takes every snap.

That said, it is somewhat irrelevant to us at this point. We need to play our games out, which I'm sure we will. Go Tigers.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I hope he is good to go the rest of the season, I dont want

Sep 4, 2012, 1:01 PM

any excuses for their season, Let them keep him cause he isnt that good IMO anyways, Shaw can thank Ole Ball Sac for that shot and shoving him back in the game

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why do you care if they have excuses?

Sep 4, 2012, 1:07 PM

Seriously, are you going to agree with their excuses. What about their excuse when they lost garcia and lattimore last year? Did you accept that excuse?

There are no excuses for us, why let them slide?

We're talking Dirtpeckers...there are always excuses***

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agreed...they're better at making excuses....

Sep 4, 2012, 1:39 PM

about the dismal performance of their teams than they are about making excuses to somehow rationalize or justify the inappropriate conduct of their coaches and their student-athletes.

I would rather beat them with Shaw.

Sep 4, 2012, 1:01 PM

If true this leaves the excuse door open.

taken out like that.hope he heals fast

Re: Being told there is big news coming out of Columbia tomorrow

Sep 4, 2012, 1:13 PM

Why would they wait and release that info tomorrow when Spurrier's press conference is today? Why would Shaw and his father be telling everyone he's gonna play? Maybe he sits Saturday but he's not missing the entire year with a shoulder bruise. Think your friend is trolling you.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

prob trolling..but spurrier could be..

Sep 4, 2012, 1:15 PM

waiting to see how he looks on wed to make a decision

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You would know a troll

What bridge do you live under ?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If that is the case we'll see Ellington at QB before

the end of the year

Re: If that is the case we'll see Ellington at QB before

Sep 4, 2012, 1:15 PM

Spurrier said that at the press conference today. Mentioned installing some Wildcat for this weekend.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

hope the kid is ok. Don't ruin your career to play early if

Sep 4, 2012, 1:16 PM

the docs want you to wait.. Clemson wants you at full strength.

Who really gives a crap WHAT comes out of columbia...GO TIGERS!!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well, it's called sportsmanship.

Sep 4, 2012, 1:30 PM

I can hate them as my rival and want to beat them all the time but not hate then as a hater of the person. Big difference.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well, this is an unofficial internet rumor...

Sep 4, 2012, 1:41 PM

...but I'll play for a minute.

I'd feel about this the same way as I did about Lattimore. Both good kids, both made horrible decisions as to where to play football, and I don't want to see either of them hurt.

So I hope he's OK. If he is or if he ain't, I hope they get the crap stomped out of them each and every week. I'll take whatever upside comes along.

Listen up: I don't like Gamecocks. I don't care about their excuses. That does not matter to me one iota.

We'll be back right after this - you're listening to the Gamecock Excuse Network.
