What should their guidelines be at this point?

I'm not sure there's anybody left with an appetite for shutdowns, virtual learning, etc.

I dunno, but when 50% of staff are sick and 20%+ of students

in two weeks of school, something has to give.

There are some schools who have never had a documented case of covid transmitted in the school. If you invest in negative air pressure systems, or air filtration, AND use masks, you can greatly reduce transmission. This is what hospitals do. Schools who have done this have had a lot of success in staying open, and keeping outbreaks down to single students without in school transmission. But there are very few viruses that can sicken 50% of staff and over 20% of students. Like FEW. Norovirus even doesn't get that bad usually. But that's an expensive investment, and then you have to use masks also. Too much freedom loss, and too expensive, so we just let her rip and then go virtual when you run out of teachers and bus drivers.
