Coolernet: Advice needed, might be a good distraction from

today's shatty news.
TRDJ is in the market for a cooler. Looking for the best fit in the continuum of price, quality, size, and weight. Would like to stay at $200 or less and it would be orange.
In a perfect world this would be an orange yeti 50 quart cooler that only weighs 5 pounds while costing $150 and is signed by brad brownell. I realize this is probably not possible.....
....so I turn to you jounge for help.
TIA.

you can buy 100 of these for the price of a Yeti. And if you're ever anywhere you can't get ice for 5 days the cooler will be the least of your worries...HTH

I have two RTIC’s and love them, but I’m in the lunge

Minority for liking them. Think others had issues with their zippers, which would be a moot point on the hard cooler.
Don’t own the one I posted but I like that they are US made.

significantly lighter. I am no fan of carrying 100+ lbs of cooler plus beer to the beach. However, it serves as a great beach seat/table to use once you get out there. Also, the beer stays cold unless the as>##### kids keep leaving it open.

As long as you buy an aftermarket METAL latch. Then use it until the plastic latch invariably breaks, then replace with the metal one.

I really really want to get rid of my Yeti 65 and Hopper
Dec 7, 2021, 12:29 PM

hopper is too small and the 65 is too heavy. That thing is the most annoying cooler to hoist into the boat.
The backflip seems like the answer to all my issues. Just need to convince my wife I NEED one. Or sell the other two, but I cant do that as the 65 I got as a sample from a Rep so I feel like I am a putz for selling it to someone else. The hopper my wife got as an anniversary gift.
I am of no help, but I wouldn't get a Yeti cooler unless you are a true fisherman that needs that kind of capacity and ice hold.

devalue anything, but even that won't get a YETI to $150.
Wish I could contribute a srs reply but will instead monitor for good advice from others.

What do you need it for? Honestly my dude, a coleman or igloo is going to do everything that 99% of people need a cooler to do. As much as I appreciate a status symbol, I guess I just still have a hard time justifying spending that much guap on a cooler to get a yeti or it's competitors. Maybe if you camp or are off grid or whatever and need ice to keep for days at a time, I could see the need then.
