if we stumble and lose to them, would that mean that we pretty much have another Tommy Bowden on our hands. I reference that to the big game syndrome that Tommy had, not being able to win.
Now, I know Dabo has already played for two championships and won one, played Auburn 3 times, beat them twice, beat FSU a few and beat LSU this past year. Seems the only team he can't beat is USUCK. Hope that changes this year. I believe that Dabo has changed the culture of this team and has them ready to play, but with that said.... we still have those ### moments. I pray that those are fully erased now and we can start winning games with offense and defense.
Again, if we happen to stumble... would he be considered another Tommy and just can't get it done? I know the media will have a circus with it, esp pumping us up like they have.
Just asking a question.

I think that having Sc state as the second game will help us gain some confidence back if we lose to uga, but even if we lose, I doubt it'd be by too much, and I doubt it'd ruin our season

I just looked at your schedule and I don't know what a Tommy Bowden is. I know who he is and he seemed to do well. I would wonder what the fan base would do if they lost to Georgia, Fla.St., South Carolina and one other. You guys seem to have a hard time winning and losing. That's not really a surprise. Most fan bases do. What is a Tommy Bowden ?

but never get the job done. When he exited Clemson, he seemed to have lost control/respect from a lot of the players, including his QB.
Many on here will cling to the fact that he was a "coot slayer." While that's true, the shamecocks were in shambles and a pathetic excuse for a football team at the time. Tommy and his unorthodox play calling (pulling Reggie) would have gotten us murdered in many of these recent big games.

You should be familiar with 'a Tommy Bowden". The irish have had their share of mediocre coaches with good talent for a number of years.

There's no such thing as a stupid question? They lied. Tommy's knock was not getting over the hump and winning the ACC. Dabo has done that already in a stronger ACC (still not very strong) than what TB had for many years

has long-since proven that he is not cut from the TB mold. He has earned the right to be judged on his own merit - good or bad.
If we lose to UGA..we got beat by a better team or we got beat by a team that outplayed us. Happens every week.
If we lose to UGA, and let it beat us over and over...then the TB comparison would be valid.

coaching staff by likening them to Bowden. Bowden lost games he shouldn't have lost with players that he didn't deserve.
The cupboard was almost bare of linemen when Dabo took over. This is Dabo's first year with mature, developed linemen that he recruited. Next year that line will be Jrs and Srs.
uGAY is a real football team. I'll disrespect them anytime anyplace but not when we are talking 'real.' They ain't scrubs. Most of those guys played and fought Bama tooth and nail just 8 months ago for the SEC conference title.
Losing to one of the real top ten teams in the NCAA ain't nothing to hang your head about.

Dabo is Dabo. He changed the culture around here, you can't even compare him and Tommy. Even if we do lose to UGA(which we're not) you still cant say we have another TB. You gotta give Dabo his respect, people look at Clemson differently now.

Really unfair comparison. Tommy would lose a game he shouldnt and then let the team go on a skid. He couldnt rebuild confidence after a loss. Dabo has shown the ability to bounce back.

First off, Bowden didn't win the ACC. I don't think he even won the Atlantic. So that's difference #1. #2, Bowden would let one loss turn into two or sometimes 3 against teams that we shouldn't lose to. Hence the term "pulling a Clemson". #3, 2008 was 2008 (which is where I think your sentiment comes from). This team is different. If we lose the opener we still have the other 4 goals. Be the Atlantic champions, be the ACC champions, win the state championship, and win the bowl game. 13-1 would be an amazing year. 14-0 would be indescribable. Go Tigers.
