Just fries in disguise. Try a baked potato and ketchup. It’s pretty good.

It says fancy right on the bottle, so there’s a little bit of conspicuous consumption, but it’s worth it.

I spend most of my days on that project car.

I had one 1" diameter rust spot on the skin of the right rear quarter panel which turned into a learning experience I haven't has since Statics and Strengths of Materials back in the 80s. I had to learn to use a ton of body tools to cut, replace and refine metal well enough to paint black. There was some metal replacement inside the trunk well to the rear of the wheel well on the right side adjoining that exterior section.
I also had a small rust hole in the floor of the left trunk well. It turned out to include a unibody seam about 18" long. Now I understand why good body men charge 30 to 60 grand to restore a classic. Fortunately for me, the speed of my work matches my income for the most part so I stay busy on a budget.
I've also spent my mornings in the Masterlife series. It has changed my life. The learning experience in both autobody work and in God's Word have been steep over the last few months. I am, have been and will be blessed beyond my worth.

I have only worked on one part of the car's skin.

Most of the work in on rust in the two trunk wells behind the rear wheels. I am forming sheetmetal with primitive tools, caveman style. Body hammers and shaping forms which I've made from scrap.
This is the results of the 1" rusty spot behind the right rear wheel well. As you can see I discovered rust on the inner well.
This is the replacement panel set into place, I'd shot some cheap primer on the backside to help define the scribe line.
Here's the patch welded on with the tops of the welds knocked down to find the missed spots. You can see the two contours I tried to match well enough to use a thin skim coat of filler. My goal was less than a 16th of an inch. I have that primed in with Transtar 2K primer but can't find the photo. I'll take another and start with it the next time I post pictures. BTW, a lot of sanding and hammer and dolly work was done after this photo.
">
This weld was part of a unibody seam which rusted between the two members. That hole the camera was looking through is a trunk vent with the flap removed. I looked through that vent hole and reached through the opening where the tail light mounts to make those welds. Couple my inexperience welding sheetmetal and the difficulty of welding several dozen spots one at a time and try to appreciate why the welding sucks?
