One was at the Underground (RIP---best music dive in Clemson evur). They played about 10 original songs and then just did a bunch of 80's covers.
Other one was at a KA band party....somehow I ended up there and had a little smokeout with Darius and the guys behind the barn. They seemed cool enough then.

I used to actually hang out with them pre-fame. Lived in Columbia, had a mutual friend w/Mark Bryan (guitarist) and we all ran the same Five Points bars. Even played Sunday afternoon beer league softball together. They were - despite their music and Gamecockism - really cool, normal guys.
I moved to Nashville. Some months later, they came up and played a show at the Exit/In (post-album release, but still pre-fame, a month or so before their record went nuts) and I went to see them (well, since I actually KNEW them, I felt kinda obliged). There were SIX....yeah SIX... people at the show, counting me. That was one empty building. They still played the show. We sat around and drank beer between sets. That's really the last time I spoke to any of them.

before the drummer ran off with Mark's wife, it wasn't odd to see them all at Art's in Mt P.
Me and a friend went in there one night and they were all just hanging out, having a few beers. Some drunk numbknutz at the bar started saying really loud "HOOTIE F'ing SUCKS!". About the 3rd time of that, they all finished their beer and left.
I guess they were all millionaires at that point, and probably just knew better than tussling with a drunk redneck over something that stupid.

When the band is playing but now playing (as in this video)...how is the drummer not just crazy loud?
Do they really hit the drums but just not hard? Are the singers really singing or just lip syncing?
At least they could make it look like they are playing by plugging something into the guitar and bass.
