There is clearly a correlation between consecutive top 10...

classes and championships. 67% of the teams mentioned in the article have reached the pinnacle of college football, winning multiple national championships in the modern era of college football. Only one team couldn't put it all together. It's also interesting that Ohio State is not on that list. I'm guessing that's a big part of the reason they have struggled as of late and also tend to draw the lowest TV ratings. It's no fun watching slow 3 stars who just can't win.

what you have been saying FM. UGA is going to choke when they finally play a big team like Clemson, just like OSU does every time we play them. I am honestly not sure why Clemson scheduled this game we need to test ourselves against a team that can win a national championship early in the season, iron sharpens iron. We do not need to waste our time playing teams that have not won a national championship in 40+ years. I am not sure what Dabo was thinking here.

Agreed...

It's also interesting that Pitt is not on the list, yet they have a much more prestigious history than UGA.

Exactly...

We need to stop playing these weak OOC games with teams like UGA, the Citadel, SC State, and U of SC teams that have not won a title in years and do not look like they will win won in the foreseeable future.

-I think we should just play Alabama 15 times in a season as they are clearly the only team that can compete with Clemson on a consistent basis, and the only team that challenges us to get better.

This is legit. Strength of Schedule can be a big deal and UGA will do nothing but hurt us. Even GaTech and BYU have won titles since UGA did. Heck the Colley Matrix even gave UCF a natty since then. I'm afraid playing teams like UGA is just gonna make us look bad. Is anyone impressed when Bama beats up on Arkansas State? Same thing.

Maybe my sarcasm meter is broken. Was that post supposed to be sarcasm?

Ohio State didn’t lay an egg the last time we played them! They stomped our ### into the ground!

Georgia has been a major rival since the 70s. The overwhelming majority of Clemson fans would love to play Georgia every year.

A lot of people think Georgia might be the best team in the country this year. Given how weak the ACC is at the moment this is a big game and we need to win it.

Tell Grady Jarrett that, and there are many 3 star recruits playing in the NFL;)

I had Grady Jarrett as a 4 star coming out of high school…

Jun 23, 2021, 5:41 PM

Hunter Renfrow as well.

Well, he was actually a 2-3 star player coming to Clemson out of High School. That maybe why Dabo was catching crap from other coaches about offering Grady a Scholarship, that and he was on the short side for that position into college. Grady never got any taller, and he has been holding his own in the NFL, so you can never tell about a player stature when they have the heart that Grady has!!!

"the orange ticket" I like it!

Jun 23, 2021, 2:22 PM

"The higher rate of commitment not only has to do with a smaller number of offers, but also with how Clemson’s coaching staff has interacted with the recruits with whom they do extend the golden — or in this case, orange — ticket."
