So if she proposes some kind of big donation to start a Lacrosse program at Clemson, our BOT and athletic department should be very very wary.
Coots are always going to coot and I'm sure she would still like nothing better than to make Clemson look foolish.
There is no need to shoot ourselves in the foot here and distract the newest bad publicity away from UofSC.

Her father, Gene Moore, was the Tigers' first team football center and starting baseball team catcher for several years, a great dual sport athlete. He was also a true gentleman.

Darla D. Moore is a very fine lady. Before she donated the 10 Million dollars to our Education school, it was a forgotten stepchild in our Academic community. It would seem to me that if you love Clemson, then the lady is due some respect. This donation had a big impact in the ED Dept. and that impact still trickles down today in hundreds of classrooms all over the state, and elsewhere.
I only met her one time. She was graciously sharing her apt. in DC with my ex-girlfriend when they were both interns for another Clemson person--Strom Thurmond. My friend invited me up for the Carter inauguration--I left Clemson and hitch-hiked all the way to DC to attend, it was very cold and snowy in DC; the Potomac was frozen over at the time. My friend was sleeping on her couch, Ms. Moore was going to visit someone and she very kindly allowed us to sleep in her bed.
I was very touched, I had my sleeping bag and was prepared for sleeping on the floor, but due to her kindness that was not necessary. I think she is an exceptional person and would make an awesome President for CU.
There is no doubting her business acumen. I can't see anything to dislike about the lady. CU would be very fortunate indeed if she could come and be a guest lecturer.
She did CU a really good turn. USC treated her shamefully when she was removed from the Board down there. She once famously stated that "USC pissed away her 75M$ donation". Let us not be such ingrates.
Clemson used her donation very effectively.
Her Dad was a genuine "Clemson Gentleman".

Thanks for the perspective. Knew she donated significant funds to the ED school but wasn't aware of the amount or the naming it produced. Maybe she should be given an honorary degree.

Thank you. I remember when she made the big contribution to USC. I think it was the "State" newspaper that had a story about her. The lady was a big business person in NYC at the time. The story said few in SC knew anything about her, but everyone who was anyone in NYC knew of her.
