one of those "Boards of Education". She was about 4'10" tall, maybe 90 pounds with winter clothes on. She had a bunch of holes drilled in her board so that it had less wind resistance. I never saw her actually have to use it. She had what I call "force of personaity" if you know what I mean. NOBODY messed with Mrs. Leontine.

that my mom spanked me for it, (yes, kids, it happened, and I did not turn out to be an axe murderer) I knew automatically that I had another one coming when my dad came in from work in the evening. I guess it was their way of showing solidarity.

I remember reading that in National Geographic. They even use the term “shrimp on tha baaahbie” to refer to painting cinderblocks yellow if I recall correctly. They’re so quirky down undah.
