I got a feeling we blow out Louisville at their place

And people will begin to really take notice.
And we will see if either GT or NOTRE DAME is actually for real this weekend or truly overrated.

the loser of the ND/GT game doesn't mean they're .........

"overrated" necessarily.........the final score will determine that, but as in the Oregon/Mich St game that was a good game b/w 2 very good teams where home field was probably the difference.
now if the GT/ND game is like the 2013 FSU/Clemson game.......then somebody was overrated.

Couple thoughts...

1. I hope we beat Louisville by 30 points. However, I think this will be a close one. They will be highly motivated at home to not be 0-3. I still think Clemson wins, but something in the area of 31-21.
2. I think it's hard to say we can judge Notre Dame at all given they lost their starting QB, RB, and TE in the first two weeks of the season. That is flat out rough.

More likely scenario .....
Sep 15, 2015, 9:01 AM
|

We will struggle against a very fired up opponent, but pull away in the second half for a 10 or 14 point win. However, we won't get credit for it since L'ville will be sitting at 0-3. We still have to run the table when ND and GT come to our place in back to back games. THEN ... some folks will start to take us seriously in the playoff discussion. But don't count on it, since ND's QB is out. We will have to go undefeated, and convincingly beat FSU plus whoever we face in the ACCCG to get in. Might even need for the other front-runners to lose a game. Last year's performance by FSU in the playoffs really hurt our chances for this year.

Good thoughts but I have a different view here. I don't think the FSU loss last year hurts the ACC too bad. They just came off winning a national title and an undefeated regular season. Nobody wins them all and some losses are ugly. As a matter of fact, isn't FSU something like 27-1 or something like that in their last 28 games? That's not bad.

Tough to call ND overrated given their injuries. Let's

just say that was Clemson ranked #8 instead of ND and we had lost Gallman, Watson, and Shaq Lawson for the season already. If we played GT at home next weekend and lost would we be overrated? Or maybe our ranking was justified before the injuries but not after?

I'm not sure whether they were overrated before. Guess we'll see.

This game still makes me nervous because we have so many freshman playing in their first hostile environment game of their career. I'm also concerned about Huegals kicking. I still think we win but it might come down to the defense having to make a stand like last year at the end of the game. My prediction Clemson 24 Louisville 20

crush ND. I don't think ND will have an answer all day for the Ga. Tech's Offense. Not sure about Tech's defense though, so maybe we will learn something on that side of the ball.

I'm not in to "predicting" but along those lines, all the hype and atmosphere holds up for a while, but a couple of big play bombs breaks the game open after the initial emotions have settled. Maybe it even waits till the second half.
