How is the new putting system on the Wii?

I still haven't figured it out completely on the PS3. It seems that the "1 in. = 1 ft. rule" of old is no longer the case.

I never played the all play TW for the wii, but it sounded like the criticism of the putting system was the same as the problems with the putting on wii sports. Basically, no consistency in how hard you have to strike it to make the putt. Also, incredibly difficult short putts because moving the controller at a similar speed to a real putter wouldn't register, and you would keep going faster until you finally conan'ed it twenty feet past the hole.

So, compared to all that, the putting system is fantastic. It seems very consistent and easy to learn.
