Almost every argument I hear for AND against is wrong on here. First of all, rights have nothing to do with the political statements at all. The same way they can't exercise their 2nd amendment rights during the game and on campus is the same way their 1st Amendment rights don't apply without repercussions. So please, spare me the "rights" argument.

Second, I find it incredibly contradictory that people say they have this platform and they can use it. Of course they can if they're allowed by the coach. That also doesn't mean everyone has to agree with it because you do. Why are they allowed to use their voice to push their opinion, yet the same doesn't somehow apply to me on tigernet, Facebook, or other social media?

Third, call it peace, love, and unity, but we all know what's going on here. There's two basic sides. One that believes racism is systemic and racial injustice is a problem, rattling off names of dead people like its one giant singular non complicated issue instead of multiple high stress, very complicated interactions where there's tons of grey area, or two, racism exists and always will, yet a few anecdotes do not prove anything systemic at all.

We rewrap it in different words no one can argue with, like peace, love, and unity, and chastise anyone who disagrees.

Tell me, would all of these peace, love, and unity people possess those characteristics if we disagreed on Trayvon Martin, George Floyd, or Breanna Taylor?

It's a psychological game to force you to agree with their stance. If not, you're against racial injustice. Well YOU don't arbitrarily get to decide what is justice.

If I claim anything short of Kyle Rittenhouse being exonerated and paid by CNN and the Biden Campaign is injustice, and if you don't agree with that you're against justice, does that mean you are?
