I heard Munson on baseball game saying it was going to overtime and rain delayed, so I found it online. It's about the only entertaining thing about a soccer game, the sudden death overtime. Most games they should just start the game that way, first team to score wins, would make it more watchable.

Anyways, I don't know if I have the words to describe how dumb it is to end a NCAA playoff game - and a team's season - with penalty kicks. This is akin to having a football game end with FGs until someone misses. Not only that, you can't use the actual FG kicker, you have to use different players, like the RBs, WRs, tackles, etc. Why don't they just continue playing a 3rd OT period but without the goalies? Seems that would be a more fitting way to decide a game.

Clemson didn't miss a kick, 6 for 6. The UCLA goalie really didn't even come close to touching any of them. The Clemson goalie was semi-close numerous times, guessing right but just really slow reaction time (compared to men goalies I have seen). These penalty kicks could have gone on forever, no way those ladies were getting to a well-hit shot.

Finally UCLA missed its 6th kick, it was just a slow dribbler (like chunking a wedge in golf) that I could have probably stopped. The poor UCLA girl who missed HADN'T EVEN PLAYED according to the announcer. I feel sorry for her, she'll have this on her mind for the rest of her life probably.

Just a weird and brutal way to decide a victory. Glad we won though!
