I don't understand these people being critical of NFL decisions

Jan 13, 2016, 2:06 PM

It has nothing to do with you. They are makin a decision for their life. They will live with this decision, good or bad, just like you will pull and cheer for the next group of Tigers that come in, good or bad.

When did this become a decision that affected fans? I'm confused

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Umm, the fans want the best for them and want a great team.*

Also, most fans are older and have more life experience and have lived with poor ill informed decisions and despite our disappointment in them leaving, we want them to succeed.

Very true*

So you know what's best for him? Or you're saying you can predict who made a bad choice?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Umm, the fans want the best for them and want a great team.*

Jan 13, 2016, 5:17 PM

I have a fairly decent opinion in who won't make it....Green could benefit from another year to develop and so could Tankersly. Whatever works for them, but some are going to be disappointed, in my opinion. And we already know what you think of any opinion other than your own, don't we?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

But we want a Natty and we can't do it w/o these guys

Jan 13, 2016, 2:08 PM

oh wait.....

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You're just being selfish now.

Jan 13, 2016, 4:47 PM

Because it really has nothing to do with you.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: You're just being selfish now.

Finally someone gets it. Haha

Re: I don't understand these people being critical of NFL decisions

Do you really believe sports have anything to do with any of us in general? We pull for the team and the individuals wearing the Clemson jersey.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm not sure who is being critical of their decisions...

Jan 13, 2016, 2:10 PM

If you don't like reading discussions and opinions maybe you should read ESPN or SI and not a message board.

It's weird bc most of them are not first rounders

Jan 13, 2016, 2:14 PM

It would be one thing if everybody was saying that guys like Kearse, Green, and Dodd were 1st round locks, but nobody's saying that. I haven't heard anybody saying Tankersley was a first-rounder either.

Of course fans aren't going to want to see guys leaving early that aren't guaranteed successes in the NFL when they could help the team next year. You're right that it's not up to the fans, but the fans are going to care.

Re: It's weird bc most of them are not first rounders

Jan 13, 2016, 3:31 PM [ in reply to It's weird bc most of them are not first rounders ]

I understand caring, to me caring would sound something like "man I hope he has an awesome career, would love to see him back", instead of "what a dumb decision, he's not ready, I can't believe he's leaving without a first round grade".

Truth is, they'll make more on rookie contracts than most on here ever will. It just looks stupid. Dont pretend like you know and care how much money they're gonna make. You care for one reason, because you want to talk crap to your buddies about how good your football team is.

Not speaking to you cammcgee, just some ppl that I have seen making ignorant comments

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

because we'd have a better team if they stayed? fairly

Jan 13, 2016, 2:18 PM

simple to understand, if you ask me.

Re: I don't understand these people being critical of NFL decisions

Jan 13, 2016, 3:24 PM

So you're one of the grown men who pull for them but when they make a decision that is best for them you trash their decision because of your selfishness to talk #### to other college football fans about how good your team is?

You are the definition of pathetic

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, Capt Straw Man, I'm saying your statement that it

Jan 13, 2016, 3:34 PM

doesn't affect fans is stupid.

Re: No, Capt Straw Man, I'm saying your statement that it

Jan 13, 2016, 3:36 PM

How does it affect you? Bc the guy you work with is gonna talk junk to you now and say ur team isn't gonna be good?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You seem really concerned about what other people think.

Jan 13, 2016, 3:39 PM

The team I see play on the field will be different...could be better, could be worse, either way it affects me on some level.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: You seem really concerned about what other people think.

Jan 13, 2016, 3:41 PM

I could not care less what you think, I just want to understand your reasoning on how the decision of someone you have nothing to do with besides cheering for him 15 weekends out of the year affects you

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not me, you just seem to be someone who might be

Jan 13, 2016, 3:43 PM

experiencing a lot of workplace hostility...you keep talking about co-workers making fun of you and talking smack. I don't experience this in my workplace, but if you are in that situation, I'd recommend talking to HR--they can help. Work really should be a bully-free island.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Not me, you just seem to be someone who might be

Jan 13, 2016, 3:49 PM

Wow. I guess you never get on here and see the "coot at work today" threads.

Thats called using an example.

You obviously have nothing meaningful to say Bc you have looked dumb already.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You seem angry. My decision to let these recruit's choices

Jan 13, 2016, 3:52 PM

affect me is my choice alone that I have to make for my life. I will live with this decision, good or bad. It doesn't affect you at all, so why do you care?

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: You seem angry. My decision to let these recruit's choices

Jan 13, 2016, 3:57 PM

Nobody's mad. Just calling out pathetic when I see it.

these aren't recruits anymore. They are men making a decision to provide for themselves and their family. and yes, that is your decision to criticize men who are choosing to take care of their family, at the expense of you and the team you are pulling for.

Btw, these men work harder for the university that you pull for than you can ever imagine. More than you will ever do. Not mad or upset Bc of something like you, just puzzled that you think you have any kind of say or right to criticize anything they will ever do

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't appreciate your stereotypes.

Jan 13, 2016, 4:04 PM

Just because they're African American you act like they all have some massive, poor family that they're leaving to take care of. In fact, many of them come from very good families who are doing just fine, thank you very much. I'll drop out of this thread now that the subtle racism is starting .....that's what is really pathetic.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: I don't appreciate your stereotypes.

Jan 13, 2016, 4:41 PM

So by me saying take care of their families, your mind goes to poor African American families?

My point was more along the lines of them having kids, not being able to take care of their kids the way they want with a stipend only. Sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean anything other than that.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So they all have kids?

Jan 13, 2016, 4:43 PM

Seriously man, just stop digging.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: So they all have kids?

Jan 13, 2016, 4:44 PM

its a bad thing to have a kid?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Again, you're saying that most or all of these AA

Jan 13, 2016, 4:46 PM

college-aged players have kids? What's your sense of perspective here---you watched Boyz in tha Hood 3 times?

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Again, you're saying that most or all of these AA

Jan 13, 2016, 4:51 PM

your points have all been stupid, so you stop making them and try to dissect what someone else says.

That's when you know..

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Good talking to you, David Duke. Have a good one!***

Take the money. They are one injury away from losing it all. In today's football, one has to look out for himself.

Re: I don't understand these people being critical of NFL decisions

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: I don't understand these people being critical of NFL decisions

Jan 13, 2016, 4:01 PM

NFLU, you are generalizing. Most the tiger fans I see want to see whats best for the players and support them in their decisions. Its ok to voice an OPINION that another year would probably increase their value. All the guys leaving early will not ALL go in the first or second round. Some of them would benefit from another year. You also have to see the fan side of it. Fans love the success and dream about what kind of team we would have if these guys chose to come back. Its not your place to voice your criticism on the entire room. Hate the kind of people that like to try and tell someone else how to post. You have your views, others have their views.

Re: I don't understand these people being critical of NFL decisions

Jan 13, 2016, 4:43 PM

Understood. It's just frustrating to me that August through January they receive so much support (if they are playing good) and then after the season ppl question them and think they should automatically come back Bc it's Clemson.

But I 100% see where you are coming from

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I might be disappointed in my son if he did this

Jan 13, 2016, 3:39 PM

But I am not the least bit disappointed in these young men. The difference is I can be selfish with regard to my son and his future, but these guys' futures are their own to determine. I would love to have them back, but they didn't ask me!
