We came out early in the year and showed some offense for once, hitting a few threes regularly, getting fouled AND making the FT's, etc. I figured that would be the turning point for us, but I'm just not seeing it now...
Our defense is spectacular, but we just need offense, any offense, just shoot better than 35% most of the time and you would think we would win a lot of games. But no we can't find a defensive player apparently who can score at all, I mean we watch guys draining shots all over in warm ups and then in the game its like a lid is on the basket, oh and the turnovers tonight....
I'm a huge basketball and BB fan (look back through my posts if you don't think so), but 41 points in a night will never win a game, it's baffling really that a D-1 ACC team can manage to score that few times in a game. If you tell me that we hold FSU to 56 points, I'd think we would win by 15 much less lose by 15.
We're only two games in, but if the lack of offensive production continues and we play stellar on defense, what's the point of watching a game? It's like if the football team held their opponent to 20 points a game, but never scored more than 14 points themselves. It's almost depressing to watch such great play on one end of the court, and such mediocre play on the other...
Anyway rant over, I've just seen this movie before, another year of leading the ACC in scoring defense, and still losing... I hope not!
What I was afraid of is happening: we looked good against a weak non conference schedule and aren't as good as we thought. We're better than last year, but it's still frustrating
