Life sucks sometimes. Stopped by Spinx this morning and they were out of...

May 12, 2021, 10:21 AM

12 packs of Miller Lite. Only got enough room in my fridge for a 12 pack of cans. So I’m sitting here drinking Bud Light now. Seemed like a good enough decision at the time. But maybe I should’ve just bought a 24 pack of Miller Lite and put half in the fridge while I drank the other half real quick before it got too warm. Hineysight is 20/20.

I thought Spinx is makin’ life easier?***

of 12 packs of Miller Lite on Thursday last week. I had to get a case for $21 and it has been so long since I bought a case, I am not sure if that is a good price or not. I only had my 12 pack Igloo cooler, so half the beer had to sit in the truck while I was out drinking.

Miller shortage. Miller was hacked. I'm serious. I think.

Guess we have forgotten how to brew beer as well, thanks to technology.

May 12, 2021, 10:47 AM [ in reply to Stewart Spinx has been an enemy to the common man since his ]

I had a pickup that would run on the E-85 stuff, so I decided to try a tankful, as it was a bit cheaper than regular gas.

What they don't tell you is you gas mileage goes down immensely. Truck went from 20MPG to about 13MPG. Doing the quick math cost per mile, RIP. OFF.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

#### spinx

May 12, 2021, 11:25 AM

They limit gas transactions to $75. Always been a pain in my ### even when gas was $2/ gal. Can never top off my 36 gallon tank in my pickup

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Now you know Sturge, you shouldn’t let that tank drop under a quarter tank anyways.

May 12, 2021, 11:29 AM

It’s bad for the fuel pump. Plus Spinx got the Tijuana Mama’s and good chicken.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It’s bad for the fuel pump?

May 12, 2021, 11:45 AM

Please, go on.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not sure how true it is.

May 12, 2021, 12:02 PM

But the pump is submerged and could overheat if you run out. Plus from what I’ve heard you can start pulling in sediment as you get closer to the bottom of the tank and it could clog the pumps filter. But I’m not a car mechanic. These are just things that I’ve heard over the years.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The pump is *sometimes* cooled by the fuel

May 12, 2021, 1:12 PM

but that's not true on smaller/lower volume pumps, and not necessarily from the outside of the pump. The fuel going through the pump will also act as a coolant. Some cars have external high pressure fuel pumps, too.

My experience: No difference

As for sediment in the fuel, if there's crap in the fuel tank it's getting sucked through the pump whether the fuel level is low or high. The pump pulls from the lowest level in the tank all the time, not just when your fuel level is low. Logic would follow sediment is heavier than gas, so it goes to the bottom of the tank.

My experience: doesn't matter

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why ask me to go on, if you had the answer to your inquiry already?

May 12, 2021, 1:24 PM

Thanks for the info anyways. Even though I didn’t need you to go on, I appreciate your commentary just the same. #### Google!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sometimes, I just wonder where people get their info.

May 12, 2021, 1:30 PM

Example: How long does it take asking FBCoachSC®anything to find out where he gets his details from?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We all get our info from the same ole places.

May 12, 2021, 1:40 PM

We either heard it years ago, worked on it all our lives, saw it on social media, or just now Googled it. It really doesn’t matter the source. It’s more important, in my opinion, to listen for that “ring of truth”. And even if it has that ring a ding ding, we should still do our research. And where do we do our quickest research? It’s Google. It’s always Google. Unless it’s YouTube. No wait, even then it’s Google. Why Google? Cause it’s been years since an encyclopedia salesman showed up at my door.

During 4th of July, the nearest grocery store kept getting hammered for beer. Beer truck guys kept making multiple stops to restock. I was perusing the aisle and saw a Budweiser guy restocking what he could.

A good ole boy walked up to him and said, "Hey man, you got any cold Miller Lite?"

Budweiser guy, wearing his very distinctive uniform that should have answered the question for the man: "No, sir, I work for Budweiser."

The man sneered and said, "Oh... so you don't work for a 'Merican beer company, huh?"

Budweiser dude, without looking up, said, "Miller isn't owned by an American company, either. (Picks up a 12 pack of Yuengling) You want American? Drink this."

He put the Yuengling in the dumbfounded man's hands and went back to his business.

Cheers to you, Budweiser guy.

(I know since then Miller is now owned by an American-based company).
