Some acc schools want cap on support staffs.

Note only the losing programs are complaining.

Here it is. An elite power is different than a mid-major.

That is why conferences are dinosaurs and it will all soon come down to 64 teams. We have to have extra support staff to be the very best in the nation.

Resources and money are at stake. Don't fence us in ACC or you may find us long gone for greener pastures.

GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All this shows me is that Clemson and others need to quit

crying poverty all the time. There is PLENTY of money, everyone is just drunken sailors when they have it. I know kids get the indirect benefits by having really cool buildings, and I guess coaches coaching other coaches on how to better utilize their abilities, but they need direct benefits when there are 25 (!!) support staff living off their exploits.

Where would you put Clemson among the elite powers in this

field? And if so, then if it is fair for the goose (other elite programs) why not the gander (Clemson)?

I don't really care whether schools can hire more staff or

Jun 23, 2016, 9:34 AM

not. I just think that this whole system is pure business, and getting more and more pure business every day. There is SO much money floating around with the top programs that something has to change.

Sorry, but Clemson has to stay on the field with other

elites to compete. We are already behind in revenue against rivals in other conferences because of their TV money.

"Clemson has been historically better than Carolina. That's pretty obvious." - Classof09

"No one knew we were overhyped until the season started." - Classof09

Complete opposite. I believe the free market should reign,

Jun 23, 2016, 11:40 AM

players should get to play in it. Not just support coaches 9-25.

Limiting the number of support staff seems reasonable to me when considering the escalating costs of college football. I'm not sure what the reasonable number is but I would think a dozen would be more than sufficient.

I'm not in favor of more NCAA regulation. There is enough meddling now. The rules are outrageous. It is headed down the same road as NASCAR and will end with similar results.

Larger staffs create more opportunities for the profession,

Jun 23, 2016, 11:57 AM

and those graduating from Clemson's staff and moving up the chain will be some of the more valuable and effective in the game. They could very well be the next coaches of the teams and programs complaining about too much staff right now.

This is kind of ridiculous, trying to legislate what a program does outside of the actual coaching limitations, which are being honored.

Maybe next we can cut back on stadium sizes and the number of home fans in the stands. Why should a Clemson or FSU have that kind of home field advantage while many other ACC programs do not? It's out of control, these stadium sizes.
