We plummeted to #3 in the AP Poll, and that's the only one that matters in the 4 team playoff era.

Nope, only the CFP poll, which comes out beginning Oct 30, counts. There are coachrs on the CFP committee but doubt if they get to vote in the poll. No sports writers on the committee at all.
